Pyramid has had that policy in effect since the airgun act was enacted.  Illinois has had a restriction of 700fps/cal. for quite a while. I know personally that no dealer will ship to a residence in Ill. , even with FOID.  The best you can hope for is an FFL shop-owner, who will agree to do the paperwork and send his FFL license to any mail order retailer, to ship to them. But then you get charged an FFL fee.  PA can't be held responsible for cancelling your order, it's not their fault...it's our responsibility to know our laws.

When I bought my X20 through Bass Pro, they checked my FOID, but they didn't have to fill out the firearm form. They just put my FOID # on the receipt. If that is enough, then why can't Pyramyd get with the program? I buy ammo for my powderburners online all the time. The first time, I send them my FOID so they have it on file, then they'll ship to me. Same holds true for powder and primers. It doesn't seem like it should be harder to buy an airgun than explosives and ammuntion.

I've got something like that in the works too. In this case, I save enough by ordering through Pyramyd, that a transfer fee would probably be covered. But if I have to, I'll just run up to Wisconsin and buy the godforsaken gun, and mail order the rest from somewhere else.

Yeah, that's what their email said. That they can't be held responsible because I should know my state's gun laws. But I do know my state's gun laws, and there is nothing that says they can't ship to a FOID holder. Since an airgun doesn't require the completion of the federal gun form, they would be in compliance with the law if they simply asked for a copy of my FOID.

I know that is their policy, but I think it is more than is required by IL law, from my above example. I think they just implemented this policy because it covers the requirements for ALL states. Simpler for them, but people in some states get shafted.

Did you check price with AOA?  I just ordered from them for $400 + $20 shipping, but they don't seem to have the discounts and specials that PA does, and I have NO idea what their take on FOID would be.

And to be honest, I really don't have anything larger than rabbits to kill, at the golf club (private, and after hours if i get permission, and if i find out whether it's legal). I've only ever seen a g-hog once, and we don't get much other than birds and squirrels round the house or the hills. some coyotes but I won't be killing them

Prod is cheaper then a mrod but guess what the .22 prod fps is ?

700fps in .22cal

Get that, get a nice ar15 stock, full shroud with muzzle brake and it is as loud as a "mouse fart"..

You can then also do the mods to increase it to a higher fps carbine....

My suggestion is to get ur hands on a canadian version of a pcp rifle and then swap the american version parts over..

Yeah, I just checked about shipping to Illinois statewide, and the Illinois law is very clear that it is an offense for a retailer to ship a firearm to any Illinois residence.  Only to FFLs upon verified proof.  As a firearm, it is also the owner's responsibility to ensure it is properly registered.  You can most likely verify that it was properly registered upon sale by BPS, by contacting the I.S.P.  It would be a shame to lose everything over 1 airgun.

Well then take the proper channels and get ur mrod legally... or get a disco with pump and the fee's for the gun store and what not would come close to the same price as a mrod minus those fee's

Yes, I'm trying to get it legally, mustangmike. I'm just trying to get it legally without paying an extra $150 in the form of lost discounts and sales tax.

The prices aren't close.
If I order through Pyramyd, I get a 10% discount, which in this case is about $65. Then a package discount of $50. Buying locally adds $35 in sales tax.

Total added cost of buying locally in this case is $150. I could do it, but I really hate to, especially since I see how the state spends our tax money. (e.g. paying corrupt governors, not maintaining roads, making it hard to buy airguns for no apparent reason, etc.)

While getting things ready to have Pyramyd ship my Marauder, I located the list of Federal Firearms Licenses on the ATF's website. Others who live in severly restricted states may find it useful.

I'm going to also post a the link in the Illinois sub-forum for future reference.
