Spending more money than planned!

Thanks to all for the good comments and suggestions - I guess I'll be dropping the hammer on a Mrod this week.  Now, my scuba tank yokes are connected with a hi-pressure hose (6K psi rated), but have a 1/4" NPT female thread and the hose has 1/4" NPT male threads.  I read the mrod has a "quick disconnect Foster fitting - Can someone point me to a link for the Foster disconnect that connects to the Mrod?  If it's an 1/8" NPT, I can use reducer bushings to adapt my male threads.

So far, about the best price I've seen is the http://airgunsofarizona.com/BenjaminPCP.htm link for $400.  Comments?  

From the comments I take it I should use the air tanks to fill gun for now, look for a good deal on a used pump later?

Just saw your post Hooker - I sure like the price of the disco.....  it's about $150 to $200 less than the mrod - sure wish they had a package deal for the mrod with pump as they do for the disco - $150 isn't "too" bad for the pump...... even if it does look like a bicycle pump {grinning}

Just a couple things about the Marauders.  They are heavy, so if you plan on carrying it around a lot, you might want to consider something lighter.  Also, I think you wanted a .22?  There have been reports of accuracy problems with the .22 mrods.  .177 and .25 mrods don't seem to have the same issues.  I'm not saying you shouldn't buy one, they're great guns, just want to make sure that you are making an informed decision.

Btw ken I highly doubt you would need a hand pump if you have tanks.. unless its a Sunday and the filling place is closed and all ur tanks are empty and you have an itch to go shooting

Thanks for the heads up Boyd, but I've about decided on the 177, then later order the 4 parts to convert to 22 cal - "IF" desired. My head is so full of new info it's sorta spinning -

Mike, I think the tanks might serve - I've got two of them.  One is still full and in hydro, other needs a hyrdo...  a bit of dive gear I need to get trade off also.

Yep, I read the 7#8oz weight, and with a scope that's over 8 lb - nice heavy load for walking all day.  I expect 90% of my shooting will be here in backyard at paper.....  with a few squirrels - those things better leave my pecans along!

If you do convert to .22, there's a guy on one of the other forums that has been machining Lothar Walther (LW) barrels for the m-rods.  If they are still available, that would definitely be the way to go to convert to .22.

Also if you aren't in a hurry (but I know you are ), airgunsdaily often has refurbed m-rods for $299.  I bought my .177 m-rod from them and couldn't be happier with it. I couldn't tell that it was anything other than brand new. It's kind of a &^^& shoot, but most seem happy with the refurbs.  If you do end up with a bad one, you have 30 days to return it.

Quite a few people have reported less than stellar accuracy with the .22 Crosman m-rod barrels.  Just google a bit and I'm sure you'll find them.  Most likely just a Quality control issue with the relatively cheap barrels crosman uses in the .22s. Not everyone has the problem, and most who complain to crosman get a replacement, but it is something to be aware of if you are considering a .22 m-rod.
