Is there any reason for me not to look into a FWB Sport .177 as a pleasant plinker as compared to a HW35s?
All thoughts welcome.

Ok, I’ll take your word for it. After a lot of reading it seems everyone agrees with you.

I think a lot of people wanted FWB to revamp the old 124's and 127's, their reply was {FWB} it would cost a thousand dollars to produce a single rifle in todays market of those rifles, so they came up with what u see today! for what these guns cost the new Sporter, JMO I would not buy 1 myself, I have looked these models over for yrs, Tho I have never owned or seen 1 in person, just by looking at the design of the breech block and a few other things I have seen on the break down of the rifle I see issues! this why I have never purchased 1, HW's are the best bang for the buck! especially the 35's and the R1/80's and 97's available today! these guns are very well made and reasonably priced! It's worth the plunge. It keeps you on your toes compared to the HWs. The trigger is better and so is the pellet dwelling time (very fast).
Pellets seat tighter in the FWB Sport, and a couple of days ago I shot some Piranhas (10.5gr) in the 500 tin these pellets ARE the hardest pellets in the world to seat into the FWB Sport!
I was also shooting all over the place! But the old pellets I was using do fine and I have to go back to those.
The open sights are well placed and true with greater distinction than the HW globe sights. Very strong and always ready to adjust. No loose spots on the wheels for elevation and windage. Watch which direction you click the sights--they are backward from HW.
