BSA lightning XL grt .22

I was able to get to the range last week just before the world shut down. (being in the new jersey suburbs, i cant shoot at home)
Anyway , brought the BSA with me. Man, i really want to love this rifle. it is so beautiful and such a pleasure to shoot. I like the trigger better than my hw95. but the 95 out shoots it.
I only had access to the 25yard range because the police had the rifle range (practicing for the apocalypse)
so far it seems to like the HN sniper lights the best, hates FTTs.

maybe this gun just doesn't like the way i shoot off a bench(on my palm  on a bag)
its great off the shoulder. perhaps a better hunter. i may have to let this one go.

Its pretty  rifle, i want to get one in 22. What kind of velocity are you getting..any idea?.
I want a bsa but i need good velocity..around 1000 fps. i dont want some limp wrist peepee rifle.
That gun will group ..its already not bad for a new gun.
My Benjamin trail took every trick in the book. But after i worked it over cleaning up the rest of the gun manufacturing job it shoots good now..i guess 300$ doesnt get ya a whole lot now a days .
Is it possible to get 1000 fps out of a new BSA with medium wieght lead pellets

I Still have the BSA and it has become my favorite plinker. its doing about 14 foot pounds if that helps you at all.

That's good shooting IMO Steve, I have not had any luck with the Spanish made Lightnings, they all had too much side-to-side play in the barrel fork area, and there's no way to tighten that up! on those guns, without serious modification

Been awhile since I shot it but if memory serves 'bout 750-800 fps.

The Lightnings I've read about, springer or GRT shoot 8.4 gr .177 around 750 and 14 gr .22 about 680.

What I really want to know has anyone tried GRT trigger in a Lightning?
