100yrd groups

I was digging around the shop on Monday & found a Condor SS frame, Talon SS frame, R&L heavy .25 barrel, R&L shroud, a 12” .22 & a .25 Air Force barrels. The .25 barrel has been cut down to 15”.

Anyway I threw together the heavy barrel in the Talon frame with the shroud found a heavy spring the only bottle that wasn’t leaking was the one for the .22 cal that has the small valve in it. Mounted a scope, got home zeroed the scope & shot it at 100yrds. It was dark but I managed a roughly a 4” group from stuff I had laying around. Gonna play it more today & maybe even order valve parts to fix the leaking tank. So I can really pick up some speed. I’m gonna shoot it across the chrony today & see what speed it’s shooting & maybe mess with the trigger a little bit. Also what about frame flex, would the talon ss or the condor ss be a better choice to limit frame flex?

What kind of groups are y’all getting at 100 with some of y’all guns?? The far left is the sighter.

Have a look in the N.U.A.H. Gate (near the bottom of the page) to see what guys are doing at 100 yds.... That kind of target would qualify you as a Member (first step out of 5 Divisions)…. Shooting at 100 yds. is a blast....

Someday I hope to be part of this group of people that can say "I found some random parts, threw them together and shot a 4" group at 100 yards".

I can do that with my Crosman Lego at 40 yards...  but geez, not with a PCP at 100.  That's just plain impressive!

Here’s my last submission to the N.U.A.H. club.  This got me upgraded to “Master” (I qualified for the club in June 2016 as a “Member”).

5 shots at 100 yards, target is a standard N.U.A.H. target with a 1 inch center, shot with my Gen. 2 Marauder (.22) a few months ago.

 Nothing to post in the club, but way before the club I was getting 1 1/2 " and under at 115 yards with African air ordnance .22 slugs, now I cast my own, and have yet to get out past 50 yards, darn work life and weather have been deturants 
 I just recently dug up my Escape UL to play with I forgot what fun they are to play Erector Set with

It's pretty amazing how much yaw can be present and still shoot a good group. Your bullet holes in paper indicate that those bullets were corkscrewing pretty badly.

I've been wondering that too, most of my groups shot with bullets (regardless of gun I shoot with) show the same symptoms. In this case I used 14" twist at around 950 fps and the bullet would need 13.5" twist according to Bob's bullet database.

Well it looks like I need to practice more!!! Them are some awesome groups. I looked over in the NUAH threads & man I’m not to sure I can compete with some you guys. 😬. But I’ll sure practice.

Great job putting the parts together and creating a shooter.

It's amazing how different each gun is when stretching out to 100 yards.   Some are effortless (my qb78 .22) Some are very capable, yet challenging and require very precise follow through (my Flex .30 and Gauntlet .25).

Part of the fun is trying to figure out whether it's the gun or the shooter....

Even more challenging......untether, and shoot 100 yard groups through a full fill range.  There are fewer guns that will produce the same POI throughout a full shotstring than most of us would like to admit.
