So if a fella were to order a new 880, and a new 77XS, could he swap the 880 stock onto the 77? Let's say this fella hated the look of the black thumbhole stock..

Let's say this fella hated the look of the black thumbhole stock.. What would be the point? The 77XS, for all intents and purposes, IS an 880 with a different stock (and Winchester's name on it.)At the end of the day, all you would have is a Winchester 77XS branded gun with an 880 stock.Really no difference in the mechanism. The 1977 XS is a bit of a different animal internally.......and, yes, I believe you could swap the Daisy 880 stock and forearms onto it.
I think the conversion that would be interesting to pursue would be to swap the barrel from a 22X or 22SG into the 1977xs. See how the 22 pellets respond to more power.
Well since this covid &^^& started my work has been busier than it ever was. This week I am on vacation and finally got to do some shooting today after a couple month break. Did pretty good despite the sweat dripping into my eyes. I picked a great day with 90 degrees to come out of hibernation.
Hi, Mr. Nathan...The 1977XS trigger is the 880 trigger.... single stage.Dunno the pull but the theory is that it is stiffer due ti the higher valve pressure required for the higher velocity.I have not seen any pull force numbers given, but removal of the flat spring will help.As for sights, you may consider the Daisy diopter rear target sight. it will mount to the dovetail on the receiver. As for Geo's LDC's, tell him what you want, and he can do it for ya!

You can hold that point and the next exertion of a pull on the trigger will fire the rifle.I have duplicated it over and over. It is subtle, but does exist. If you just pull through the trigger, which is easy to do because of how heavy it is, you don't even feel it. If not a 2nd stage, what is the click? At first, I though maybe the trigger machined surfaces were just rough.I'v shot about 250 pellets. The trigger is smoothing out but the 2nd stage is still there. So far, it has just reinforced good trigger control.
Dang ill be glad when daisy puts out a complete parts list for these rifles!!
