Just shot some Barracudas through the new 77. They were going 727-731 FPS. Same pellets through the 880 were doing 600-605. That’s 12.5 ft/lbs through the 77!
I wonder what Geo could do with one of these...
My 77 should be here on Thursday. I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces before seeing what can be done to push it a little harder
Just joined the forum. In the process of some parts research, I picked up a new winnie 1977xs & tin of Daisy flat tops, free shipping, for $99.Was looking for the trigger for the wife's Model 95B. Not sure how I explain that but sure look forward to putting some pellets downrange.
Plus one for Academy. Best deal going for the 1977xs even though it’s misidentified as the 77. My purchase went smoothly.
Nathan,It breaks down just like an 880... you can google that if your not familiar with it. Glad it’s shooting well for you, and you will definitely like the ldc’s on both the Winnie and the 880.That trigger on the 1977 will break in a bit with shooting, but I did remove the flat spring.I’ll be glad when we finally get a full parts and price list available for the 1977. Lol, i’m trying not to wear mine out in the meantime.
Daisy will tell you that the internals are the same as the 80....true fir the 77, but not for the 1977.All I know is that the pump assembly is different.....2 O-rings on the piston and a flat wire coil spring to replace the dreaded "elastomer spring."Pump slides are rectangular rather than round, probably to handle the increased pressure.Theory is that the trigger is stiller in order to open the exhaust valve against the higher chamber pressure. Now you know as much as me.................
Received the winnie today.First 4 are 0520 so I'm thinking May 2020. Is this correct?Iron sights right out of the box and after oiling the sponge, this thing has excellent grouping for off hand shooting.Dang is that trigger stiff. I must research removing that flat piece of metal. Pretty impressed with the overall quality. For those who got them for $69, it a steal for sure. The scope is trashed. The windage is off center to the left and will not adjust. I know it is not the best scope and I will likely replace but it was part of the deal. We will see what Daisy says. I am not returning the rifle with, that's for sure.Which brings up another thing, I'm pretty sure pellets have shrank since I shot last! lol Those things are tiny. It's a trick loading one without the scope and even move challenging with one. I sure it will get easier but man!!Probably need to pick up 2 LDCs. One for this and for the 880 that's been stuck in USPS transit for 8 days now. I dont have the crono and other stuff and will assume for now this thing is punching them out at those levels. Are we going to get a detail of breaking this thing open?

The frame also has a clearance hole added for the poppet valve stem in order for it to open further. Yes, the trigger spring is ‘stiffer’. Now you know as much as me.................
