HW50S/HW99 in .20 cal

$145 would be better and I think we ha w 10 people who would go for it.

Interesting option by buying a new gun and buying a .20 barrel to build an ultimate 50S.  If I did that I’d Buy a gun in .22 cal and sell the barrel for $100.  A lot of takers for .22 barrels out there. Net price would be under $350!

Only question, now is how long would it take for these barrels to get here and do we have to pay in full up front?

Ok I talked with AOA this morning and I have good news for EVERYONE.
Lead time on the barrels under present conditions is 3-6 months.
Anyone that wants to order a HW50 .20 barrel needs to call AOA.
You may or may not have to put down a deposit, that will be up to AOA.

If people call in one at a time to order barrels, did they indicate what finalized pricing they would offer us?  Are we able to benefit from a group buy still?

They said they wouldn't order many barrels unless someone put down a deposit.
Maybe talk to them about everyone that calls say they are with the GTA ? Will have to ask AOA
I'm stepping out of the barrel order because AOA can order hw50's (the whole gun) in .20 and that's the route I'm going.
Put my order in this morning.

Anyone have a guess as to the velocity difference between a HW95 and a HW50 both in .20 and stock form?

Just from my experience, using an H&N FTT 11.42gn pellet, the HW 95 will usually out of the box run's 740 to 750fps, My converted HW50 with an 11'' barrel runs right at 650 FPS, but I'm running a JM 30 coli 120dia spring kit, just for comparison my 50 in .22cal factory spring pushes a 14.2gn RWS Super H Point @625fps, it has a 10.5'' barrel length, all of these rifles and calibers will vary per individual gun due to seal fit and spring to guide fit etc,

I'm getting a little over 11ft lbs in my .177 hw50 with a Vortek kit and 9.57gr pellets
I have heard of some getting 13ft lbs in .22 with a vortek kit, I'm hoping to get close to 12ft lbs with the .20
But I always want smooth, not the most power I can get.

Interesting figures for the 50S

Your converted .20 cal is making 10.7 ft pounds and your .22 version is making a stout 12.3. I would have expected a bit more from the .20

The difference is 3 grain weight in the pellets I also just installed a new piston seal just before these chrony numbers on the .20cal

No guess owning a stock R9 .20, same rifle. Bear in mind I was shooting the JSB heavy 15.89gr and they were the only ones chronied but I got a 631fps 10 shot average for a touch over 14 fpe. The fps numbers would/should be higher with lighter weight pellets.
