I did a couple chrony strings with my Xisico Sentry I bought from FDAR

Very nice 702-3 ya got there Ken, that baby is accurate no doubt.  I just recently opened the ports more in my .25 Sentry 705-2, it's not a lever action like the new ones but it's got the airtube like the new deluxe models with the gauge up in front.  Even the wood stock and polymer fore stock are what the 702's had and have the hole in them for the gauge but there's no gauge block in the tube.  I opened up the ports more yesterday and did a 28 shot chrony test with it today.

A couple days ago looking through my pellet supply I decided to try turning the gun all the way up and put some 23 grain magnum hunters over the chrony.  The new side lever breech does cover up most of the #5 mark but it's on there.  I was looking real close through my Optivisor and could see parts of the 5.  This will be the next gun that comes apart, on the .25 the hammer spring did need some deburring on both ends and I think that it did make a difference comparing before and after.  I'm also curious how big the ports are.  The port that was on the .25 was very small, it's now 3/16".  I made a TP from delrin for it that works great.

I started with 3K and ended at 1.8K pressure.

Wayne, the more posts that I have read about the Sentry the more impressed I get. I should weed out some of my .22's and pick one up and the new full shrouded models look and sound great. The problem is that I have too many pokers in the fire and can't get out of my own way. Bob

Bob this has the most out of the way side lever I've had on a gun too, it never gets snag on clothing or anything, I've yet to have it pop open at all when I'm out with it.  The last time I was out with it I dug at the bottom of my coat pocket and found a BBT to try in it, with the scope adjusted for 19.6 grain pellets the 27.5 grain landed about 1/4" low and to the right(probably 30 yds) from where I'd just shot a 19.6 grainer just before it so I've got a sneaking suspicion that the gun is really going to shoot them good. Well I have a pot of lead and ladle that are probably up to temp right now and I'm going to cast up some BBT's in 25 cal.  Both of these Sentry's that I have are eating the BBT's without being sized which also puts a grin on my face

Hopefully this will be the last chrony string before opening up this gun for mods maybe soon I've got the scope zeroed real good at this setting and pretty much know right where I'll be hitting.

I did do a more recent chrony string shooting the BBT's from my Xisico Sentry 705-9K and have also been in the woods with it since.  Now that I know just how good the gun is shooting at present velocities I think it's finally time to get inside of this gun and make it breath, I'd like to get in the mid 800's with it which I'm sure that I can.  The thing that's nice about these guns is the hammer spring that comes with them seems to be ideal for this gun in general and I think that it work well with the ports opened up also.
In the woods shooting slugs is a joy with this gun, super accurate the way it is, I can watch the slug flying straight as an arrow with a little elevation change out at a distance.  I've got it sighted in for 40 yards right now and have already gotten some red squirrels with it, last outing I got two and nailed the first one in the head big time.



The rain has stopped here and I'll be heading out in at daybreak (warm this morning) and I'll be bringing along some bug spray for the ticks (they're really bad this year).  I'll be using the .25 cal Sentry shooting slugs, I'm going to start at a spot where I've seen ground hogs in the past but there's also red squirrels in the area.  I've also seen quite a few possums at that spot as well.

Have you run the power adjuster thru it's ranges, I am going to do that with my 22 Sentry,
hoping I'll be able to have a power range by changing the adjustment wheel etc.

Don I would imagine that your .25 will have a lot more power than mine had to begin with because I found out that the prototypes had way too small ports in them, there were about 20 of them all together I guess.

I was wondering,
when using the WC pellets (22/25 cal), if the power adjustment wheel would provide enough adjustments, read accuracy,
that when using WC pellets, power wheel set at 1.5 and heavy weights slugs power wheel set at 4.5 etc.

You would have to play around with the adjustment wheel to find the accuracy spot for each pellet/slug you are using etc,
but that would be nice to have that type of adjustment for any pellet/slug you wanted to use etc.

I'll have to look at the power wheel and see if I can add some numbers to the face side I can see etc.

I can't wait for my order to get here.........................

I got to thinking about my .22 Sentry with the side lever that has the bleed block in the air tube and that's when I decided to do a complete teardown of it and it's probably a good thing I did because it had more than one loose bolt/screw holding it together.  How I got the bleed block out of it was I bonked the tube on a piece of wood until close to the front of the tube, then I used 120psi pressure from the compressor nozzle into the hole in the tube and it pushed it out.  Then I was able to loosen the cap to the valve and take it out.  The Transfer port on it is about .110 (cheap harbor freight caliper), before I assemble it I'm going to drill the valve exhaust, transfer port and breech all out to 11/64" (aproximately .172).  I'm sure that bleed block is probably the same one they used on the originals for the gauge   I'm sure that MikeM has just the tool for removing that bleed block which threads into it which would enable you to pull it out rather than using air to push it out.  Also one of the barrel o rings was sheared too, I'll be taking my time reassembling it making sure I remove all unwanted burr's throughout.

Going from .110 to .172 will make a considerable difference the way the gun shoots without a doubt.  Actually now that I think about it the transfer port that I have from my other Sentry is drilled out to .172 already, I'll use that instead and just drill out the valve and hole in the receiver.

What dimensions are the poppet head/valve stem etc?
Inside diameter of the pressure tube?
Approximate cc's of the pressure tube,when all parts are in?
Diameter and length of bbl?

Did you also do the other end, any chance of adding numbers to the power wheel?

Which screws were loose and where were they?

The poppet seal looked good, I didn't measure the poppet or stem, right now the tube assembly is back together with ports drilled out to 5/32" instead of 11/64", reason being I'd have had to drill off the shoulder of the TP and I didn't feel like making another delrin TP at the moment.  Just got done deburring the hammer spring which had really sharp ends on it but not anymore.  I've got the tube pressurized to about 2700psi and I'm going to let it sit over night before I assemble it the rest of the way.

I was doing a search trying to find the weight of these Rex scopes  a guy said that the Rex scopes are actually Schmidt and Bender or Swarovski brand that have minor flaws or cosmetic damage and can't be sold at a regular cost of $1600-$2200.  He said that REX actually stands for Reconditioned, Extremely X-pensive

Not even in the same universe. And look nothing like either. They share about as much as a Ferrari and a
Toyota prius. No not even that much. LOL Think Yugo here!

Actually that screw was tight on this one but I did use blue locktite on it.  Both of the screws on the saddle (part that the stock screws into) were loose, screw on the rear of the trigger group and one of the breech screws.  Those Chinese sure are in a hurry when they assemble these guns and honestly don't give a rip I'm sure.
