It was a good experience buying from Flying Dragon Air Rifles, I bought the Sentry model 705-9K in .22. I ordered the gun and it was at my door 2 days later, it came with five shot target at 10 yards, a note showing different velocities of 5 popular pellets at around 2400psi. It was a super good deal IMO for $310 to my door. I was expecting it to be an automatic safety which it's not and I'm very happy about that. The fit and finish on the gun is very nice. It's going to be a while before I get inside of this gun because I presently have been getting my M11 the way that I want it.
One thing I'm going to be adding to this gun soon is a scope and I'm seriously thinking about a nice one that FDAR offers at a remarkable price.

Here's the shot string the way the gun came out of the box with the power setting on 3.

After the first chrony string I decided to turn the power adjuster up to #4

I'm thinking this gun has much more potential by opening up one or more of the ports it, I've never been inside of one of these and I've no doubt it'll be a rewarding experience.
I'll be heading for the woods in about an hour with my M11 trying out a new LDC for it I recently bought from Rocker1.

Now that I have a chrony I need to play with my Sentry's power setting...

I have one on FDR's Rex scopes on my XS60 and am very impressed with what you get for the money!

Haj did a review of the JSAR Hawk which is based on Sentry and found that transfer port going into the breach were mismatched and used 3/16 drill to open up breach to increase power 15%....check out the new Haj gate and JSAR gates and find a great deal of info and discussion of that "potential" these guys have once they are opened up

My old .22 Sentry just needed the barrel and transfer port opened up and I went conservative on that IIR .175 is what I bumped it up to, with amazing results.
They are pretty basic to work on similar to the SnowPeak guns.

Scott you're not the first person I've seen that had good things to say about those scopes. I will be buying one soon, maybe even after I type this up. I'll kill two birds with one stone and order scope rings with it too.

nice shot strings wayne, i love the sentry sidelever, smoooooth cocking

haj's video on the tear down and tp mods would be the same, barrel is different, valve different

the thing i really like about the side focus bubble scopes he offers is the light, that light blue really brings out detail in the brush line under low light, great for dark cedar patches and early/late day hunting

I just did another Chrony test, this time I set the power at 3.5 but on the first shot I hadn't reset the power yet, the rest of the shots were all at pwr level 3.5. I appears that the barrel is leading in and sealing better already with only 106 shots through the gun. These numbers are looking better yet IMO. This gun is going to make a dandy squirrel gun for sure . . . . cmon warmer weather, it looks like next week is supposed to get up into the 40's with some sunshine, that will bring the squirrels out !!!

Zeddymon the medium height 30mm rings didn't work out on that sentry well so I ordered a 3-12x Rex from FDAR and it came with 30mm tall rings, I ended up using the medium rings with the 3-12X on the Sentry and am going to use the tall rings mounting the 16x on my M11. That rifle will be ideal for shooting across the fields that I hunt for Ghogs, also I plan on trying for some stealth coyote hunting in early spring as well. I've never shot a coyote and even the DNR said they needed to be thinned out there. I must say though that I'm really happy with how well my Sentry .22 is performing, it's very accurate and fun shooting, I still haven't seen any good shots on squirrels since I've finally been out with it but I sure the heck will when we get rid of the snow, squirrel season is open til the end of March here.

I did a short video clip of a three shot group that was about 45 yards, I sure like the way this gun shoots, for being a gun that's not regulated I sure get a lot of shots with it. During this stormy weather we've got coming here I'll be doing another chrony string with it soon plus I'll probably be doing some more casting pellets and slugs.

Nice group Wayne= That will get you some squirrels for sure. I'm thinking of getting one of the new 705 Sentry's. Like all Chinese moderators i'm guessing the factory one doesn't work to good? Does the barrel have 1/2 x 20 threads? How do you get the factory mod off?

Pat to be honest I haven't had mine apart at all yet, the only thing that I've done is adjust the power up. It is not REAL loud but could very well be muffled down some if a person wanted to use it in suburbia however I only use most of my airguns on State land here in Michigan where it's mostly PB's that people are using and out there it's rare that people even hear me shooting. I might ask David about what he might have that would work good on one of these but for now it's not a critical thing in my case. I really had to get one for my M11 because it was as loud as a .22lr shooting straight from the barrel like it was, now it's mousefart quiet @60+fpe.

i have also been very happy with the sentry's, wish i had as much time as you do to hunt.........i've been doing birdfeeder protection from the red squirrel menace and fixing barns for the farmers

Wayne= Your a lucky man to have state land right out you door. Yes i am in suburbia so silence when i shoot in my yard is my number one goal. I know i can find a moderator to fit. I was just wondering how much of a pita the factory one is to remove.

While I can not speak for Wayne, Or the new 705... my 702 Sentry is fully shrouded and is very "Back Yard" friendly.

I like the looks of the full shroud on the 702 better then the little moderator on the 705. I will have to call Mike & ask if they are interchangeable. The selling point for me though is the side lever. Just feels so much more natural then a bolt. Just a personal preference.

Much agreed Pat, I LOVE a side lever... I have been waiting for a reply from JSAR, the maker of the Hawk / Night Hawk, for parts for the side lever conversion for over a year with no reply.

I might ask David about getting something to quiet mine down because even in the woods it's loud enough to let the squirrels and other critters know where the shot is coming from. I have mine set to 3 1/2 on the power adjustment which is really plenty in my opinion for the .22. I will be taking apart my prototype .25 because in reality it's not shooting the 26 grainers that I cast as fast as I'd like it to and I know that it's more than capable of getting the speed up considerably, it too is a 705-2 but it's bolt action. From what Mike says on his web site the 705-2's are more powerful. I don't think the $270 model is side lever but I could be wrong, it doesn't say anywhere on his site if they're now sidelever or not but I can tell you the side lever on the new HC is the cat's meow no doubt.

Lots of info online about the 702 sentry but not to much on the 705? From what i have read the 705 has a longer barrel,longer air tube & the side lever. I haven't read any bad reviews about these guns so that's good. BTW i see that HUMA now has a reg for the sentry.
