If I were to separate my PCP air bottle from it's regulator assembly, what would be a good thread sealant to apply to the threads for re-assembly to guard against leakage ??

All HPA threads I know of do not use thread sealant to hold air. The air seal is provided by o-rings.

I use a TINY amount of pure silicone grease on o-rings and threads to make assembly smoother/easier.

Please use CAUTION when working with high pressure air.

Yes. There should be an oring just inside of the neck of the bottle.

You may want to check with the manufacturer as to whether or not you should de-gas the cylinder first...

thank you for your replies.  I would assume that de-gassing was the norm before attempting anything like that. Perhaps not ??  I know I will !!  There's way too much pressure being handled to take casually.
