Questions For Discovery Scope Owners...

I need to find a glossary to understand some of these terms—Christmas tree reticle, bell, etc.

So far I know I want a light scope weight wise, around 3 or 5x to around 10 or 12x  (more is fine), AO, and a mil dot reticle.  It needs to work on a springer (I currently  have a Swarm Fusion).  I also don’t want to spend any more than necessary—ideally less than $150 shipped, if that is reasonable.  I don’t know what else I need/want.

I do have the 3-9x40 W1PM the rifle came with and maybe that is good enough for now even though it doesn’t have an AO, so some distances are a bit fuzzy—it is focused at 25 yards.

The HS 4-14x44 is around $175. I have more coming soon but I'm out of stock at the moment.
The Discovery VT-3 3-12X44SF is $133
Both are Mil Dot side focus parallax,tge first is the toughest built of the two and first focal plane. The other is springer rated, I'd just not risk it on a very heavy recoil springer.

Here's an example of a Christmas tree reticle, and the bell is the part of the scope furthest from you that is sort of bell shaped on most scopes.

Thanks for info on these scopes. I don’t see where the warranty is listed on the Discovery website. I’m thinking of a 12x or 16x for a 13fpe springer. Which do you suggest? I’m seeing mixed info about springer use so am going with your input.

I would suggest going with a minimum of a VT-3 or VT-T model. Most of the scopes have a 3 year warranty. Some of the lower end ones like VT-R or VT-1, VT-Z may only be a year now, I'll have to check further. The ED scopes are lifetime warranty.
