I haven’t finished setting mine after putting in Belleville’s’ but it’s weak’ probably only putting out 1000-1100 psi if that’

On .177 trans port I usually go up to about
.136-.148 any bigger and the pellets will dip down & you have to vertical load’

I got my numbers wrong on my trans port
I corrected them⬆️‘

Well, I went to the local paintball store to get my reg measured. It was only putting out 950 psi, with the stack I mentioned earlier:

|)()()()()( w/ .032" Belleville and a .009" shim

Also, the creep was astonishingly apparent when watching the gauge measure the reg. I ended up purchasing on of the new super short Ninja regs and getting it set to 1350 psi using the stack from the original reg. A little pricey of a fix, but now the bonnet is black to match my gun and the bottle sticks out a good 1/2" less.

I am still going to fiddle with the old reg on the 13ci bottle that I have, but now the gun is shooting how I expected. It's shooting 792 avg with the 7.33 JSB. With the 10.34 JSB that I prefer, it's doing 711 avg, which is 11.25 fpe. Exactly where I want to be. All that's left is to wait for the lightweight hammer that a kind GTA member is sending me as well as the Vortex Crossfire red dot that will be delivered tomorrow. All in all, this gun should come in under 4lbs and putting out just over 11 fpe for quite a few shots.

I really like the gun. For a bottle gun, it looks very sleek except for the big old can on the end of the shroud. I would opt for 2 or 3 more inches of shroud with some baffles to clean up the guns lines. Can’t wait to hear the shot count. You should try some 8.4’s out of it. They are good middle ground.

I love that you said this as I had thought about doing a Rocker1 extended shroud on this build. The two reasons that I decided to do the stock shroud plus a DonnyFL LDC are:

1) Purely aesthetic reasons, as I love the look of an LDC on the end of a shroud

and

2) This gun was purpose built to shoot pests out of the window of a truck

I have a Raptor Mini on the way in .177 that I'll set to around 18 fpe with the 10.34 JSB. That gun is a small, compact gun. So, in order to prevent redundancy in my gun, I wanted to make this build smaller in every way. Lighter, shorter, less power. I like that I can unscrew the LDC and have the compact length of the stock shroud.

As for the reason I'm sticking with the 10.34 JSB. All of my airguns are .177 caliber and they are all tuned for their respective purposes with the 10.34. Assuming that this build and the two Raptor Mini's I have on order like the 10.34, then I can just buy a ton of 10.34 and feed all my guns.

I realize that I would get more speed out of the 8.44, but this gun, as I said, was built to be smaller than the Raptor Mini in all ways. This means a lightweight red dot instead of a scope, lower power, lighter, and shorter. This gun is meant to be a 30 yard gun max. Anything longer and the Raptor Mini will come out to play. So yes, 700 fps is slow, but for the range I'm using this at, and the limitations of a red dot sight, I think it's perfect.

Here's some updated pics of the gun.

With shorter Ninja reg, DonnyFL Tatsu, and Vortex Crossfire. This comes in at 32.25" long and 4.4 lb.

Same configuration minus the LDC, to show how sleek and short it is without it. This comes in at 28.5" and 4.2 lb.

One last pic to show the shortest length possible. No LDC and folded stock, coming in at a mere 19.25"

I have to say, I'm so stoked on this gun. Pretty much every other gun that I've worked on, there have been compromises made along the way. This build came together exactly how I'd imagined and hoped. It's every bit as light, well-balanced, and compact as I planned. Now we just gotta see if it shoots well!

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention! I was playing with the hammer spring adjustment in the stock last night. With the 10.34 JSB, I am averaging 710 with the hammer tension maxed out. With the hammer spring adjuster backed out as far as possible, I'm still getting 710 fps. This is making me wonder if I have such a small plenum that I'm emptying it completely, no matter the preload. I am running the stock hammer with the striker screwed in for the longest stroke possible. Stock hammer spring, stock valve spring, and 1350 psi reg setpoint. I have a lightweight hammer coming in the mail tomorrow and it will be very interesting to see if that gives me a knee and a plateau.

Nice and compact the way I love my Prods. Looks like you have room to make the res a little longer. You would have an even lower set point for the reg then. A light hammer and an ssg will add more consistency.

The second pic made my heart skip a beat. Cool looking gun. A .177 at 710fps is easy to make quiet with just a shroud and some appropriately sized baffles. We just have different taste when it comes to a truck gun. I am not a fan of extra bulk or having to screw things on and off. I built a 2240 bottle gun as a travel gun. Throw 2 extra bottles in and I have a nice 150+ shot gun to take with me anywhere without worrying about pumps and stuff. I like your gun way more than my 2240. My wheels are turning. Must......quit......looking......at this gun.

Well, I've been staring at those pictures...

And I think you're right for this build. I contacted Rocker1 about an extended shroud. That should take off 1/4 lb with the Tanto being removed.

Where'd you buy the Maxtact 9ci bottle? My search turned up a bunch of dead ends.

Regarding the pocket in the valve face, flow is very turbulent anyway so I don't think that's a concern.

Hi Chris, that is one awesome build. I really like your stratagy of not trying to duplicate rifles already in your stable. I learned that lesson the hard way that I had so many of the same type of guns competing for my time. Your build was obviously well thought out.

I am not a huge silver and black guy, but it's kinda growing on me. I'm hoping to bring the speed down just a bit more with the lightweight hammer to get it to be even more quiet.

Thanks! I like to think that I thought out this build pretty well. As far as the stock goes, it's made by a guy that was on the Airgunnation forums. Unfortunately, I know he has some people's money and has deleted his profile on the forums and disappeared, so I will not recommend him.

Little update here. I got the LW hammer and I've detuned it a little bit. It's spitting 8.44 JSB at 600 fps. Perfect for my 20ish yard requirements.

It's also shooting very tight groups, especially for a red dot. I will update once I get my Rocker1 shroud.
