Looking into getting a qbmag for my disco. Does anyone have any experience with them good or bad.

Are they still in business because my emails have gone unanswered. Or is there another place to buy them?

IF you get a response, please let us know. I've been trying for at least a month to get in touch with Jay. Email to 3-4 different addresses have gone unanswered. They did not bounce as undeliverable so SOMEONE got them. I also contacted @SSS$$$ and GMAC since they were listed as distributors for QB Mags. Neither have had any communication with Jay and are in the dark like we are. Hope all is well with Jay but we sure want his multi-shot breech!!!!

I had good, quick service from Jay when i bought my .177 mags. be sure to have high rings for your scope otherwise they won't fit. I got mine a while back, not sure why he isn't answering

Excellent and thanks for the find. I have now ordered a .22 breech and brass cocking lever for my Disco from Martin. And ordered 3 magazines from PA. By the way the kits Martin sells do not come with magazines but are only $12.95 each at PA. And be sure to use coupon code "pyramyd-nra" for 10% off.

Yes it is much taller than the stock disco breech

Re the QB Mags...Been shootin AGs a long time and have always wondered... Is there a "rule" that states that AG Tuners and AG Widget Makers have to turn off their phones, shut down websites and go underground every 6 months or so? Or go bench-rest shootin or other non-customer related activities while orders sit and then, they get irate if you ask when it will be done?

Seems like more the norm these days than the exception? How do you build back your customer base after you exit the scene? No one gadget or tune-up is that good to replace lack of customer service.

On the other side of the coin, from a manufacturers point of view (which I'm not for this very reason).... airgunners as a group tend to not appreciate how much work goes into a custom part and what it would cost them to get one made were they to go into a Machine Shop with a detailed, dimensioned drawing, let alone a vague concept.... I'm not saying everyone is this way, some appreciate the amount of time, effort, research, and just pure talent required to come out with a new product at a price that is not so rediculously high that nobody could afford it.... The suppliers are not blameless either, many have a pie-in-the-sky idea of making their fortune suppling a new style of widget for their favourite sport of airgunning.... Once they actually spend all the time developing the product and announcing it, they are usually either overpriced (according to the customers).... or if the product is good and relatively cheap they get inundated with orders they can't fill because to do so means working for $10-$20 an hour (which few of their customers would even consider).... If, as is the case with Jay at QBMags, you have to make a choice between working for $80 an hour (just guessing at his CNC shop rate) and dealing with making small runs (more expensive) and impatient customers (ie this thread).... guess what happens.... You choose making money to feed your family over customer service....

I'm not saying that is what's currently happening at QB Mags.... but I know that when Jay was developing the repeater breech for the Disco, the project got put back several times so that he could fill large CNC orders for established customers.... I personally think we are extremely lucky to have a few talented, patient suppliers who are willing to put up with being pestered with questions and concerns about delivery.... when at the end of the day, they would likely be better off to be working at a 7-11.... Such is the lot of the self-employed.... I did it for years (R/C Model Racing Yachts) and loved every minute of it.... I made some wise decisions (direct marketing, no middle man to rape your profits, first paid - first made, etc.etc.).... and I charged enough to make a decent hourly wage.... Even then, when you add up all the non-billable hours spent in communicating with customers, bookkeeping, getting supplies, and a hunderd other things you have to do to stay in business.... I would, also, have made more money working in a menial job.... I don't regret a minute of it.... I did something I loved, and I was fortunate to have made a career of it for 30 years.... Few have that opportunity.... and it's a loss to all of us....

Good points Bob and things we don't normally dwell on. I REALLY appreciate the folks that invest the time and money into developing and bringing to market the vast array of accessories for our toys. Bob has mentioned just WHAT it took to get the GRT triggers on the market and the investment of time and cash is WAY above what most folks are willing to do. But the hard facts are if you decide to do this, put up a web site advertising and establish distributorships, you are expected to maintain the business. If things change, take the web site and advertising DOWN. Don't leave folks guessing and without support. And contact YOUR distributors at least and give them a heads-up. I spoke with 2 of his distributors that are in the dark as us would-be customers are. And I have seen folks post that have sent their barrels for machining to fit his breach and are left with no information and no barrel. Not to mention the money paid already. So under normal circumstances, I would agree with you assessment. But if you decide to offer a product, offer the product and support it. Or lose the advertising on the web and with distributors.

I agree 100%.... Unfortunately, most suppliers are human and "hope" they can catch up.... By the time they realize building airgun widgets is not for them they have already alienated a lot of people....

I can totally agree with this statement. I find that all the little thing mentioned above burn a good portion of my day a way. After running my business for the last five years I still rather work for my self then work for the man.

I bought the breech that Martin Paredes offers on Yellow. It arrived quickly. This was my first Disco maintenance so it was a little challenging. I emailed Martin and he responded almost immediately and said he would call and walk me through it. He said he has discovered it was easier on all that way. An ACES guy!!!!
The breech is nice too. Good quality. Be advised it does not come with magazines, you have to get those elsewhere like PA. I got the conversion done and put about 200 rounds throuh it this weekend. Works very well but cocking isn't as smooth as I would like but I believe it will smooth out with use. Excellent product though!!!!
