Denture wearers/Denture advice??

Any advice, do's or don'ts, before I get false teeth? I'm in my late 60s, only half a mouthful of teeth left anyway, and the ones still there are in bad shape. It's time. I'm shocked at what it's gonna cost          Any and all advice is welcome.

Be prepared for many phases and adjustments if you're having extractions. It takes time for swellings to go down and things to settle in. I'm at the point where I'm going to go in and have a new upper plate made. All my lowers are mine.

Mike nothing is cheap in Dentistry, I have one implant, 2 crowns-one is titanium, and 1 nesbit(partial). Implant was my best option for one tooth, the nesbit was better than a bridge. I would look at what your best options for dental replacement. You will have to wait for the gums and bones to settle before you have dentures made or they won't fit right.  As Bill, stated it is a long process, my one implant took over a year to settle in before for fitting. Most dental offices will have a plan made and how much it will cost and most will let you pay over time for their services. Care Credit is a credit service for medical and veterinary expenses, I don't have dental and this is the best way for me to get these bills paid, most terms are 12 months interest free after that there is interest, it's high but payable.

$$ is not an issue. I just had no idea it was going to cost THAT much. Price of living in the USA I guess, most expensive healthcare in the world.

I have limited coverage through my job.... I think mine was a bit over $300 (iirc) out of pocket.
