gauntlet stock

has anyone realized that the stock on a gauntlet is 3-1/4#!  would be nice if someone would offer an economical lighter option

I plan to see where I can drill some holes in the buttstock to knock some of that weight down. Figure the underside of the  cheek riser and slot it fits in can be routed out some.
