Temperature here in North Central Illinois reached a balmy 35F today. I was able to get some basic testing done with my M11 .25.So far, all I had done was pull the action from the stock, thoroughly clean the barrel, check and tighten all screws, Fill it with air and ensure no leaks, and test fired it indoors several times to ensure function, plus I loaded & chambered several pellets & knocked them back out of the breach to check for lead shaving.Last night I put the laser boresight are in it and dial it in. Today I shot two magazines of H&N 31 grain “Grizzly” pellets (conical hollow point bullets, really) and two magazines of H&N 35grain “Barracuda” pellets. I shot at a Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C Scope dial in target, plus I had a couple of 6 inch rounds and a series of the 1/2 inch round red dots scattered around the dial in target.Shooting was with the rifle propped on a leather rear bag and simply shouldered. Once I got the scope dialed in with 31 grain Grizzlies, I was able to shoot the 1/2” round dots at will, hitting five in a row, mostly dead center.I switched to the 35 grain and at first there was a small drop- about 3/4” in POI but as a near the end of the second magazine, there was a substantial drop to the left, about 4” down and 1” left. I realized I was nearing 35-40 shots, and the gun wasn’t full when I started. I checked the air gauge and it was down to around 1500 psi so I topped it off to 3000 and went back at it. The 35 grain barracudas were still hitting 1-1.5” inches low from the POI of the 31 grains Grizzlies, so I went ahead and dialed in for the 35s and then tested, got about the same accuracy as in under 1/2 inch at 30 yards in the cold without a very stable rest. I did purchase a Competition Electronics ProChronoDLX w/Bluetooth and a good stable camera tripod. What I learned today is that I have purchased an inexpensive rifle specifically for pest control, and it’s shown me so far that it will easily be equal to the task and may even be quite impressive.I was running an M10 LDC that was generously donated by a forum member, originally .22 Cal so I had it bored to .30. My M11 .25 with that LDC is every bit as quiet as my Daystate regal. It literally sounds like a Daisy red Ryder with a soft “bloop” sound. The sound of the pellets hitting my wood target backing was literally louder than the sound of the report of the rifle. Question for the other M 11 Owners – I did notice that my bolt is butter smooth, but when I am pushing forward to chamber the pellet, the last 1/4” of motion is really stiff, which has me wondering if that is just the normal squeeze of chambering the pellet into the breech, or if I should be checking really close for sharp edges on the transfer port?Happy all around, so far.DrGunner
Kevin---are you sure about H&N 35gr pellets? I have never seen those, I like H&N baracudas for .177 and .22. If a 35gr .25 is available would love to order some.
Kevin---Understood, it is hard to keep up with all available projectiles, lol... I was hopeful you found somehting I hadn't seen yet. I typically have decent luck with H&N pellets...JSB 33.95's are lasers in 3 of my .25's that I use them in. I run them as slow as 850fps in my Edgun R3M or as fast as 960fps in a regulated, cothran valved QB78 based carbine. I'm sure the M10 will do well with them, it has a reputation for being pretty accurate with a broad range of ammo.I had hi hopes for Grizzlies, but unfortunately I don't have anything that shoots them well, it is possible they are undersized for all of my .25 guns. I did buy some in .35 for another project
After lapping out the lead and polishing the TP, I still have a slight bit of resistance as you described, I believe it is a combination of the probe oring and the little "detent bearing" little round ball that id located on the back of the bolt, that locks the bolt in place for firing. I plan on lubing it to see if that helps, though not the worst, and may smooth out with more use, I may also look to see if there is an adjustment to snugh up what seems to be a little play in the bolt when advancing it forward as it seems to have a little wobble in the forward direction.
I have an almost entire tin of the Grizzlies, I figure once I get a thousand rounds or so through my gun I'll test some other pellets besides the 34.5 grainers that I'll be using for the break in. I'm getting 24 regulated shots with them over 60fpe. My main objective is quieting this thing down some. I'm supposed to be getting an LDC for it soon hopefully.
This is what I'm getting right now with the 34.5 grainers, once I had a thousand rounds through my SPAM16 in .22 my velocity had increased considerably, from out of the box it was doing 28.5 fpe for 55 shots and by the time I hit 1000 rounds through it I was getting 60 shots at 32fpe. It's hard to say what the M11 will be doing after it has a thousand rounds through it but it only stands to reason it will increase I've no doubt. My regulator gauge is reading 160bar the way it came.
QuoteI’m hoping I can tune my M11 to shoot the Grizzlies or JSB 33.95gr to around 930-950 with good accuracy. If it’ll pull 1 MOA groups to 50 yards or so with either, the pest varmints around here won’t stand a chance.DrGunner Wayne's reg is set a little higher than mine, 155 bar and getting around 900 FPS with the heavier pellets and a 30 gr slug, depending on the factory set you may get there or close with no reg adjustment.
Well I got out with mine on the state land today and I must say that after getting it sighted in with the 34.5 grain Magnum Hunters I was more than pleasantly surprised. I think that I won the barrel lottery with this gun as well as any of my other SPA guns and that's flat out more accurate than I am. It's even made me to decide to order the NOE slug mold for it which is the .249 41 grain (39 in HP) slug. I'm going to continue shooting this gun with the 34.5 grainers for now though for a good break in at the present tune. I did bring along my air tank just in case but I only needed a couple of tweeks of the scope to get it dialed right in good. I'll be needing to get taller scope rings for it though because the clip wouldn't clear the scope so I used the single shot option only. The scope will be going back on my DAR22 and I'm going to get me a much better scope for it. I have my eyes on a bargain deal that Xisico has and also like the idea of getting a nice UTG swat scope for it. This gun deserves at least up to 14X for magnification for this old fart for the real far off shots.
Who has that M11 in stock? It’s also very tempting.

I bought an M11 .25, so far mine has shown me VERY promising accuracy and is a very high quality regulated PCP at GREAT price!https://airgunarcheryfun.ca/artemis-m11-22-and-25-caliber/
