Budget 30fpe hunting pistol

Lost track of how old the 1700 is....right about the time they introduced the 1701. ACrosman change for  pragmatic reasons....a price limit on "production guns" for some competitions at the time...the slightly cheaper (then) 1701 ended up with a better triggerfor less money.

 Shoud tube started out life as a bit of a wind blown down wind chime.

No way either are 30 foot pounds...maybe if I shot them both at the same time.

Lost track of the hotest-hot-rod P-Rod length .22....but if 30 foot pounds was a goal,would likely convert it to .25...does take it out of the cost-effective catagory.

Other than that possibility, thinking  a 3Ofoot pound pistol is more likely to be in the cut down rifle size category or a big-bore.

That's cool you've had them that long.  Hope I can hang on to mine for a good spell.  Preferably indefinitely.  Thats funny you used a wind chime, but I'd have done the same if it worked.     Most of my guns are either tuned for 15fpe, or have parts I can swap in/out to get them there.  The 1322 I have actually was outputting 27fpe with it's 7.6" barrel    Just a standard valve, not a Crossman valve, though.   But with that massive reservoir behind it, its not a huge surprise it pushes a lot of air out at 180bar or so.  I do have another air tube that is longer, the shorter one has been fitted with a regulator for 15fpe.

Mike at TKO claims to have developed the drop sear trigger in those mrods/1700s, and I honestly believe him.  Been chatting with him lately about getting the 1322 fitted for a custom shroud.

Been several posts/attempts as a "dispatch pistol"...airgunning things at close range. Really don't need to get a .30 pellet very fast to end up at 30ish foot pounds, but most people want both speed and power for range...and that's a struggle with a short small bore (.25 and under) barrel.

Did have a few left over TKO trigger parts at the time....the 1700's trigger doctored up well.
