WHAT ARE "THE" most accurate pellets?

what is generally considered the most accurate pellet in .22 caliber?  i've heard more than a few say FTS....

Now 454 BB Chevy, that question can’t be answered that straightforwardly. What range are we talking about.

I guess if I had to choose one pellet for all my shooting it would be the JSB 18.1 grain. They are the most accurate over all for most of my guns. But not the most accurate at every range.

Beeman Kodiak 21.1g and JSB 15.9g are a very close second.

im speaking from experience. jsb work well in some guns but ive always found an rws pellet that would work

The only RWS pellet that I have had success with is the Meisterkugeln, and only for short range shooting.  On the other hand, JSB pellets in one form or another, give me good results in most of my guns.  Even my Marauder shoots lights out with Predators, a JSB produced and rebranded pellet.

Check the Old GTA under the Pellet Reviews forum.  I posted a lot of data there on pellets, weights and uniformity.  In short, there is no short answer and no short cut to finding out for yourself which pellets is "best" in your particular air rifle.  See for example my testing data on the R9 .20 cal pellets.

The answer also varies by whether you shoot the pellets out of the tin, un-sorted or whether you choose to sort the pellets by size and weight.  Another not insignificant variable, particularly with springers, is how you seat the pellet (ie, with your finger or a pellet seating tool).

Also, with CO2 and HPA rifles, the shape of the bolt probe relative to the shape of the inside of the pellet skirt can be very important in some air rifles.

I have tried JSB exacts in my previously owned Big Cat and Whisper, and JSB heavies in my current Benji XL1500.  None of these rifles liked the JSBs

It just depends on the rifle. 

The JSB's are some of the most high quality looking pellets though.  Very well made

Before the JSB line gained a following, Crosman Premiers in the cardboard box were the standard by which others were judged. They won a lot of trophies and medals all over the globe. But the quality of the Crosman Premiers fell, and JSB's started gathering a following. Some say that the Premiers are back up there now, but I haven't bought any Premeirs in many years. I have some Accupels, which IIRC, are Premiers with a dry lube, that shoot very well from my PCP's  Many people recommend trying Premiers out along with the others in your search for the most accurate.

I'll have to go with the FTS, Predators, Kodiacs and Exacts. I've had best luck over all with the Beeman FTS, but as many others have said it depends on what a gun likes.

In general, I would say most "Dome" style pellets are the most accurate.  After that you'll have to test them out to find which ones your airgun likes best.

Again, it depends upon the gun AND the range.  Ten meters?  Wadcutters.  Over twenty yards?  I would chose a domed pellet.

The ones my gun likes best are the 15.x grain JSB Exact Jumbos.
However, it also does extremely well with the cheap Gamo Hunters.
Honorable mention goes to Kodiak/Baracuda, FTS, Superdome, and Premier.

I'm with tpw...if I had to choose one brand it would be RWS.
