Steve, you did not mention whether you are experienced at shooting break barrels. Assuming you are I am not sure the sampler packs give you enough pellets to do ample testing. I have found sometimes you have to clean the barrel when switching pellets and then shoot quite a few to condition the barrel. I would suggest you try some JSB as they have worked well for me. In all honesty IMO I feel to get an accurate evaluation I have to shoot a few hundred pellets. I do this because I have found pellets that shoot lights out for a while but foul the barrel quickly. Shooting a few out of a sampler pack just will not show this.

It could be one of many issues. If cleaning the barrel doesn't help try another the scope. It might not be holding zero or built to take a springer's punishment.
This is not related to Hunting, so I am moving it to the Crosman gate where others with the same or similar Crosman NP rifles can help.

I'm with Harry on this one.... clean that barrel really good then check for breech seal leaks. Find a domed pellet that is heavy enough to bring the FPS between 820 and 920 ish. Make sure the scope is rated. Start at 15yds or so then move out in steps.
Explore different holds on the gun.

Some Crosman/ Benji springers have excessive sideplay at the barrel pivot that can be corrected if needed.

Just guessing - If this is a new gun to you, the stock screws need to be tightened and the also the scope mount.
There are plenty of posts on the trigger fix if you look here on GTA.

I'm in agreement with all the above but ESPECIALLY about the trigger. You must use great care to pull the trigger straight back. The trigger on my Nitro Venom was so hard to pull that I would begin to shake before the gun would fire. The result - if you aim all over the place you'll likely hit all over the place. You can do some things to the trigger without dismantling the gun. My favorite mod was putting an NP2 trigger pack into my NP gun. THAT did require dismantling.
