Daisy 499B Champion butt pad

I recently bought one of these for shooting in my garage over the winter. Its fun to shoot, but I had trouble with the slick bare wood butt slipping on my shoulder and the rather short length of pull. I tried a couple different slip-on recoil type pads and couldn't find one that would work well with the short 4-1/2" length, and I didn't want to bother with a grind to fit type.
I finally found one that I really like. Its actually for an AK-47 butt stock, which is even smaller. I found that some work with a hand drill mounted 1" drum sander to open up the length a little worked just right. Price was right too at $12.
Some may not like the look but I think it looks good on the 499 and it adds an inch to the LOP as well as addresses the lack of grip on my shoulder. I plan to buy a few more for some of my other rifles.

I was thinking one of those slip-on pads for shotguns might work too.

Sweet piece there. How is finding precision BB's for it? Don't tell me there is a ball bearing that is just right...

No "magic" ball bearings- I use the Daisy Match Grade Ground Shot. Im happy with the accuracy.
