For fourteen years of my life I made television. I now refuse to watch it. 12 years in Hollyweird burned out my capacity for willing suspension of disbelief. It frustrates me. I will now go back in my cave and crawl under my rock.

I understand that I spent most of my life on a nascar circuit, ask me now if I watch it. I will paticipate in a drag race now and then but have lost interest in the roundy round. David

After I saw Hoosier Daddy's post I had to rethink what I said. I won't watch contemporary TV anymore. But if they were showing a Gary Cooper or Randolph Scott movie, I might peek out from under my rock.

Glad to hear you got out of there Sam. I kicked Hollyweird to the curb well over a decade ago and haven't regretted not watching any of their movies since. The only movies I watch are old comedy classics that I know I'd like to watch again.

That's funny..
I picked up a 50 mile range HDTV antenna for the RV and I have a 32" flat screen in there. While cleaning and tinkering we have the GRIT channel on.... love the old Westerns..... watched both of those movies among many others this past weekend.

The Duke was the original all American dude. I remember watching Katherine Hepburn talk about him on Johnny Carson and she said in person he was what you saw on screen. In her words “a real man”.

I always loved what Kirk Douglas said about the Duke. In an interview after Wayne's death he said "Burt (Lancaster) and I were just actors. The duke, he believed that s#!t!"

Is it just me or was Hank Williams Jr. off key for most of the over dubbing he did for George Hamilton?

I know he was only 14 at the time, but I have listened to his other recorded renditions of the same songs at the same time and did not notice the off key resonance.

I think he was more than a little bit PO'd about something to do with this movie or just PO'd in general.

Still love Hank Williams Jr. for standing up to the NFL, ESPN, etc...

I was just curious if anyone else noticed what I heard in that movie?

My favorite recent movie was "Ford vs Ferrari" with Matt Damon as Carrol Shelby and Christian Bale as Ken Miles . . . yep I've always liked Fords.

Just watched the 1966 Spaghetti western Navajo Joe starring Burt Reynolds.

Not a bad movie.

You know a lot of people think the survivalist Dave Canterbury came up with the whole idea of shooting arrows from a slingshot about a decade ago, but there it was in this 1966 spaghetti western filmed in Spain.

Carts of Darkness - pretty wild documentary on YouTube about some homeless men that literally race shopping carts down steep-arse hill roads in and around Vancouver BC.

These guys hearken back to mental images of the 1920s-era trapper-hermits and hobos. Outcasts from society as much by choice as anything... and 60+ KPH downhill on a shopping cart is just nuts.

Last night I watched about 2 hours of youtube videos. The English "airgun show". It beats the heck out of my wife's taste in zombie movies.
