They changed the name because of a copyright issue. Kral had to change the name of their Nemesis PCP to Knight for the same reason.
Trademark attorneys create some high comedy. Recently Lagunitas Brewing sued Sierra Nevada for using the letters IPA, which is a whole category of brews most certainly not invented by Lagunitas (backed out due to bad response from community).Nissan sued Audi for using the letter Q as Audi model designation, which Audi had been using since the 80's Quattro.Attorneys have no shame, just billable hours, and a load of guile (without the clever bits).
I have the NovaStar in .22. Don’t know why they changed the name. But the gun is very accurate. I did polish the hammer and have it set to push the 25grain JSB RDs for a average 892fps 24 spread for 66 shots. I have had the 25s pushing 990fps but my curve was more of a cliff. The gun is very loud without a mod and not back yard friendly. I put a DonnieFL Tanto on it and thought it was broke the first time I pulled the trigger. Lol. It really was that quiet. Butch

So they changed the air rifle. Again this may not be correct but what i read, heard watched lol..

Again this may not be correct but what i read, heard watched lol..Yep, I saw that same video, the flaw in that theory is the fact they had the Nova for a number of years before the NovaStar came into being! I know nothing about their Shotgun line, so I have no idea what names they have attached to them... This same reviewer also stated the .22 Neutron Star was an awesome slug rifle! Well, I'm here to tell ya, my will stack JSB Kings, Jumbos and Hades all day long at between 975-1035 fps, but when I shoot slugs of comparable weights at comparable velocities, the targets look like I'm shooting one of their Shotguns!
Steve at AEAC has done an extensive review on the Neutron Star. Sounds like it's a real slug lover. They changed the name because it shared a name with one of their shotguns. It was causing confusion with some of their dealers, regarding parts orders.
Josh, mine is a .22 and I have a .25 cal DonnyFL Koi on it. I also have a .25 cal Tatsu (Short version of the Sumo) and sound is about the same from both. They do quiet it down considerably. I will say it produces about the same amount of power as my .25 Galatian, but that's regulated and tuned for a better shot count. I prefer .22 just because I don't shoot anything bigger than an occasional squirrel and mostly rats and mice, so a .25 is really overkill. Plus, the .22 pellets are more economical. It really loves the AA diablo pellet in both weights!I did purchase mine direct from Hatsan USA as a refurb. I did have to have the trigger replaced and had to tighten a number of screws, but since getting all that worked out, it's settling in to be a real tack driver with the JSB and AA pellets.
Where are you looking? HatsanUSA has them in stock, but they don't have any sales going at the moment. They seem to be completely out of stock of the refurbs though, which the the route I took. You can always sign up to receive a notification when the refurbs are back in stock, that's how I got mine. $599.99 for a return vice $889.99 for new...

Then they will send me a new rifle once they see tracking on the one I send abxk. Just pay difference.
I got one in .177 when they had them on sale for 45% off. I tried a few pellets and it did not seem to take to any of them. I was sure JSB heavies would do well. I did not try slugs. It's currently in pieces to have a 12.7mm OD TJ 16.5" pellet barrel fitted. in 22 caliber. The original .177 barrel and shroud were astoundingly heavy. I'll weigh them on a better scale when I get them back. I have no need for a 24" barrel, though. Or the extra mass the 16mm OD + 4mm thick steel shroud added.Does anyone know if the hammer spring is adjustable? It looked like to me the hammer has a stop screw in the receiver tube side-wall. It's just a regular screw, and it had been flattened on one side by repeated hammer impact. I figure it's to stop over-travel, and work to aid in consistent velocity. Just seems very crude.
