Reducing the noise of CO2 rifles and pistols

Have various Vintage Crosman rifles and pistols that use CO2.  Some like the 160 have quite a bark.  Would a really heavy pellet make them quieter?

I don't if a TKO would fit, but Rocker1 may be able to help.


I don't know a heavier pellet would make that much of a difference since it's the same amount of air expanding at the muzzle, but I've been wrong before.  Just ask my wife.

Like the 150 Crosman pistol, sounds like a 38 Spcl going off, the better half even comments on how loud it is.

I have always thought that Co2 is strongly tied to it's bbl length, you just have to find that limit for the most quite possible,
along with the best pellet weight etc.

Only a properly designed Muzzle brake will do the trick! dave

Steve, yes, heavy ammo would help a little to quiet your 160. But if you really want to quiet the 160, you're going to need an LDC, IMHO.
