257 Texan - Power Level - I was Wrong

Maybe Santa will bring me a Labradar for Christmas.  You guys your chronographs are really hurting your PCP's performance.  Mine adds at least 25-30 FPE... I'll sell it for $500....lol  See your rifles performance go through the roof!!!

Really it has always produced realistic results for my other AG's.  I even shot some 22lr across it for a somewhat known sanity check.  Velocities were reasonable but a little higher than spec for 3 of 4 with the 4th be low.  So I don't know.

On my chrony I have seen very optimistic readings when I was shooting not perfectly in line with the sensors, instead I was either shooting diagonally horizontally or vertically over the chrony.  I usually shoot over the chrony outdoors so no issues with led or fluorescent lights.

Sometimes chronies get worn out. My Red Shooting chrony got loose sensors from a few years worth of setups. Same thing happened to my second crony.

Physics would tell me that shooting "diagonally" across the chrony would actually give lower speeds due to the "added" distance between the sensors, right? Making up numbers here, but if straight line between sensors is 12" it would take more time for the pellet to travel the 12.1" (diagonally), but the chrony still thinks the distance is 12".

The most common Chrony errors are not having the base folded out flat, which angles the sensors inwards, reducing the distance between them, particularly if you shoot relatively high above them.... or having a single light source above the Chrony when shooting indoors, which has the same effect.... Both cause high readings.... If the light kit is angled inwards (which can also happen if the Chrony base is not fully flattened out) you can also get high readings....
