Crosman 1377(B?) value

Hi,
Looking to find out if my old 1980's sliding, plastic breach 1377 (B?) has any value.  I was contemplating making a 'frankingun' out of it but if it has any value I will keep it as-is and buy a new 1377 to bastardize.   It is in about 90%, fair condition with slight surface rust in a few places.  Bore is clean and it functions flawlessly.

it has no more value than any 1377 ( 37 bux roughly ) so go ahead and start chopping.

Thanks for the news.  It is a shame it is not worth much, BUT now I do not have to feel bad about turning it into a 'project'.  Of course it will probably be more work than it is worth, but an interesting project to put my machining skills to the test.  IF it does't work out, no big deal destroying a $37 pumper.....

I got a #2 rear cocker also, put a steel breech and UTG Bugbuster with shoulder stock, and since I've ran out of projects for awhile
I'm eyeballing it now. Seen lots of creative stuff done to those on this site. Enjoy.

One SOLD yesterday on eBay for $75 plus shipping. Other recent sales have been $36 - $71 plus shipping for the rear cocking variants. What it is "worth" depends on how bad one person would want it at a given moment.

I have one of those old ones too. Sliding breech would blow open on firing. Eventually installed a steel breech, and new barrel as mine wasn’t compatible with the new breech, and a better open sight on the rear. Shoots great now. Very accurate and a proven pigeon killer. .177 cal. Do the mods and you will be very happy with the results.

 My 1377 RC has the Baker aluminum breech,wearing a 3-9, a cut down 18" Disco barrel, a little extra volume in the valve,carbine stock and a LDC.
 Trigger components are polished and a .22 casing spring guide.

Wow, thanks for the encouragement guys.  Like most, my ambitions are to make a useful carbine out of this 1377, stock, breach, barrel, LDC, so nothing that has not been done before, but I want to make all the parts myself (sans barrel).  I was under the impression that the 'steel breech' kits did NOT work with the older rear cockers, because that is what I was told when I tried to order 3 different models.  I just resolved myself that I was going to make a breach that WOULD work.  I realize I will have to load and cock the hammer in two separate operations, unless I can figure a way to make it happen with my new bolt design like the new model.  What breech did you buy that works with your older 1377?  I also thought I read somewhere that somebody made an interesting breech for the 1377 that took magazines?  Not sure how useful it is on a pumper but it's a really cool idea.

Tom West (urgthrash) has some beautiful stocks for 13xx pistols to make them into carbines.  I may go with one of those initially but I would like to make my own just for the 'did it myself' factor.

Breech is first because the plastic breech on my pistol not worthy.  The bolt slider blows open if the pellet is a tight fit with 10 pumps, and I don't think the new barrel will fit it anyway.  The concept I had in my head was to build a breech that had a picatinny rail built into it, though dovetails would be slightly easier to machine.  Likely go with a simple bolt, probably with a 'pin' style probe though a 'flow through' may work really well if I make it a suitable size.

The barrel I am still undecided on.  I was thinking 18", but I need to do more research to see if there is any benefit to using a 20+" for such a low power supply.  While on the subject, I was considering converting it to .22 for a little more impact ft/lb, but not sure with the lower velocity if is worth it.  Same 'power supply' but a heavier, and now slower pellet.... 

Likely going with an adjustable flat piston pump setup for added oomph as well, and polish up all the internals in the trigger group just to make it more enjoyable to shoot.  I will comb the forum to see if there are any other useful mods to fabricate while I'm 'inside'.

As I mentioned, I really like the design of Tom's stocks and they are well thought out and very reasonably priced.  It will likely depend on where funds are when I get to that stage whether I buy or build the stock.

I already have the perfect lightweight scope for this project, a vintage Beeman Blue Ribbon SS-II (3x21) short scope that has mounting plates for dovetail or picatinny.  Awesome scope for it's day, but the newer Vortex Spitfire 3x blows it out of the water for clarity and light transmission.  The downside to the Vortex of course, no paralax adjustment.

Mostly done putting the highlights into my TalonP project, but may set it aside since it is in 'functional mode' to jump into something more juicy like this 1377 build.

Who says 'you can't make a purse out of a sows ear', going to give it one heck of a try.

Any input from you guys as to something I may be missing for the 1377 build, chime in...

 For myself, I REALLY like the fact that I can pump mine up, load a pellet, and its still not cocked.
 It doesn't get cocked till I'm about ready to pull the trigger.

Here's mine,..it wears a different LDC than pictured.

As I mentioned earlier, an aluminum breech, (.177 caliber) from Baker Airguns.
 A little more affordable to me, has two barrel set screws(steel has one)
 It does not come with the plug on the end,( where your bolt probe goes in), but it's not needed.
 The barrel I had gotten in a trade,it is the .177 Discovery barrel. I found it very accurate,but unwieldy, so cut it to 18".
Much better.
The LDC is an older one from Rocker1.  I ended up putting that one on my 1701P.
The one that's on it now is one made from the Crosman Baffle   NP214-001  in an aluminum pipe  It has 1/2x20 threads in the end, you'll need a barrel adapter.
 Crosman and Pyramyd sell this baffle,   cheaper from Crosman.

Maybe he just needed to run to the restroom, or hard other pressing matters? I find it works better for me if I try to imagine good reasons for peoples less than perfect behavior, and I understand from my own work experience that many things can interfere with a fellow human doing their job in the manor I see as excellent. I always strove to do my best but know their were times that my job performance was far from excellent.
