It's my understanding that co2 cartridges shouldn't be left in a gun pressurized or not pressurized,
and it's also my understanding that it would be hard on the seal at the business end of the cartridge, is this correct or not?
the reason I ask is, if this is correct, I think the qb78 would be the exception to that reasoning because of the way the cartridges are loaded into the qb78- after tightening the cap enough to pierce the second (second in,rear facing), the cap is turned back one quarter turn to flood the tube with co2 allowing co2 to pass around the the first (normal orientation) cartridge.
Wouldn't this keep pressure off the seal allowing the rifle to be charged all the time?
I've already made my mind on this and leave it charged, but would like to hear other opinions and reasonings.
Thanks

They might lose some co2 over time...i suspect they do. Even after months are often able to shoot as fast as ever....but that's in the nature of co2 conversion from liquid to gas.
Have had them gone 6 months sill shooting strongly as when filled and put away..but not shooting as many shots be for dropping speed in comparison.
guessing that even sealed o rings that seal still are somewhat permeable to co2...loss isn't much but tend to a "seasonal" view of even well sealed QB's.
No harm I can see....just checked....one I put away 1/2 way through a Shot count in August till shot ad expected today (tho will bet it leaked at least a little and would not shoot as many shots).
Not really sure it would seal any longer than a 22xx type push-into-a-salve-seal system....but with more (2x 12gr) co2 to escape...would store longer be for you noticed it was slower than expected.

I leave mine either way, if it has air when I am done shooting or empty makes no difference. What is important though is adding penguin oil to the tip of the co2 cartridges,
Years ago I decided every 5 or so cartridges was good enuff, started leaking . Now I do every other one.

Not opposed to running CO2 "wet"...every other 12gr. fill or every fill...pretty much a flea sized drop of chosen co2 lube seems to work.

Yall made me go check one I put a seal kit in about six months ago. I put one bottle in it after the reseal in case it had a leak, and guess what its still got gas after all these months. Don't think it seems to matter a whole lot till the seals give up. cave

For myself, a small leak would be preferable to dumping half a shot count in order to store the rifle, not to mention it's a pain in the rear to pull the trigger, cock and repeat 30 times.
pelgun oil is sound advice and maybe a little on the O ring that seals the cap to keep it flexible or "live" as it were.
I do appreciate the replies fellas, thanks for taking the time.

Generally will store then with co2 but at near the end of their normal good shot count....call it 2/3rds. Enough for a few "grab-n-shoot" shots if I have to.
Do think (subjectively) think the o ring sealing of the QB type can be more leak resistant than the 22xx types (push into a valve donut seal) ... But it is difficult to objectively test.
