I just installed a GRT III in my Trail XL. At first, there was only one stage. I backed out the first stage adjustment screw as fer as I could before I started getting nervous, and then i could feel a very short first stage when the gun wasn't cocked. Cocked, she still had a "hair" single-stage trigger. Then I started cranking down the second stage, and that solved it. I worked with stage two just enough that I could feel a decent first stage when firing the cocked and loaded gun, and then I worked with the first stage adjustment a bit. Once I got her where I liked her, I loaded her up and slapped the butt of the weapon probably a dozen times, plus smacked it around a little from side to side to see if it would fire. Nothing, solid as a rock. The trigger is soooooo much better, I'll post up some before and after groups as soon as I can. I have pretty good trigger control when I'm plinking or shooting paper, so I wouldn't expect my best groups to tighten up a whole lot but my avrage will probably improve. When hunting, however, adrenaline and excitement make trigger control much harder. I went from 3-4 breaths per trigger squeeze down to one breath per squeeze. This weekend I missed a 25 yard shot at a crow because I jerked the trigger in anticipation of the shot- well, if I wasn't taking 3-4 breaths and partial squeezes to maintain my sight picture, I bet that one would have went in the bag! I can't wait to hunt again!

I had the same issue w/my XL 1100 and pretty much did the same as you (butt slap,etc) and adjustment screws. It's still a little crisper than my Storm & Venom but I'm happy with it. Have 3 GRTIII triggers installed. Need I say more? Happy Shooting!

I had similar problems with the CBR trigger for my NPSS, took a while but I figured it out.

I just ordered a GRT III for my Gamo yesterday. The stock trigger is really bad and I hope the new one is as great as everyone says.

I just ordered one Yesterday for my Trail NP it only took 3 months to order. I just hate the fact that you can't order with a credit card. I'm all for sticking it to the government and skating on paying taxes, but man what a hassle. If the trigger is as good as everyone says, I'm surprised no one else makes 3rd party triggers.

Other then funding due to my line of work being hit the hardest soonest (well before the rest of the usa realized there was money problems my line of work started taking hits a good 4yrs ago) by the recession not being able to order with a cc is what's stopping me.. but once my spring compressor is built its going to start bugging me not having something to use my sc for..

The GRT-III and other great triggers produced by Bob may need a slight adjustment. It's not a problem with the high quality of Bob's triggers it's the quality of the part's in the trigger housing. This one of the reasons that I included a debur of the housing and polish of the trigger assembly in my tunes. I've seen some sear's and other part's that had burs and grooves in them from the press. I'm not suggesting to anyone to do this to your trigger part's since you don't want to change any angles and make the airgun unsafe. Ed

It took 3 months to order because I had to buy envelops, stamps, and find $32 in cash. It may sound trivial but I don't normally don't carry cash and I haven't used the USPS in years. I guess its just the sign of the times.
In case you didn't know, the guys that make the triggar don't take credit cards. You need to send them a cashiers check, bank check, or cash, which is a hassle. Hence, took 3 months to order.

Id love the option to pay more using a cc or paypal for ordering online.. like the trigger is $34, id be more then happy to pay a even $40 for ordering online, but keep the $34 price tag for snail mail orders...

Howdy All. I've been a long time lurking and finally joined this great forum a couple of weeks ago. I got the GRT III for my CFX. I sent Bob a Postal money order, available at your nearest Post Office. These money orders are preffered by merchants, almost like cash. They can be cashed at any Post Office. I mailed mine on Tuesday and received my trigger on Saturday. I have nothing but high praises for Bob, his shipping time, and last but not least, his product. The trigger is a fantastic improvement. It is very easy to install. There is no improvement you can make for $32 that will make such a drastic difference. $32 is less than a half a tank of gas for me. You will be happy with the results.

Most of the small merchants that have stopped taking the plastic are doing so not as much to avoid taxes, but to avoid the mountain of paperwork that is now going to be required. Something is very wrong if it takes 5X the time to report a sale than to sell the item in the first place. Just another knife in the back of small business.

Gotta tell you something bodybagO...... You apparently know next to nothing about business or what all of the new rules, regulations and paper work and records that need to be kept because of Obama and a few of his cronies have forced on the small businesses and the expense involved and how many he has forced out of business.

Using credit cards and Paypal just adds to it including time, additional paper work and cost, not that it matters to you. But then you are probably an advocate of Obama.

And I have a question for you.... It may have been a hassle for you but if it was that big of hassle and if you were going to sit around and complain and cry about it later, why did you even bother?

I get very few complaints about my payment process and if I did, it wouldn't matter anyway. I conduct my business as I see fit whether you like it or not or how much you complain about it. I have had thousands of satisfied customers

and although it may have been an inconvenience to some of them, to them it was well worth it

and they didn't sit around cry and complain about it.

No, I do not need to accept Paypal or credit cards and if you don't like it, that's just too bad.

It reduces my cost and keeps my cost to the customer down and although my costs over the years keep going up, in seven years I have not had a price increase from day one and don't plan to either.

All raising prices would do is increase my taxes that I have pay into the system and I pay way to much already.

And as far as being sold through distributors.... not to be. My margin of prifit is pretty low as it is and it wouldn't take much for me to say "To ?ell with it" and close the doors. But I don't do this for me so much as I do it for others.

I suggest that you return your trigger and I will give you a full refund. And I promise that it will not take me three months to find the money and I will not cry or complain about it.

Now take your crying towel and blankee and go home. No one needs to hear it.

To the complainers,

Bob isn't running your standard "Brick and Mortar" business, nor is he a "Volume" seller. He's a guy who saw a need, and has taken it upon HIMSELF to provide a product to satisfy that need. Kudos Bob!
Why should he have to bear the costs and burden of Paypal and Credit Cards for 1 low volume product line? That's foolish business!

If you're so dependent on your credit card, why didn't you just take a cash advance for $32.00? And then pay it off with your next month statement? That would've taken less time than the ranting you've done here...and you would have had your GRT trigger when you wanted it 3 months ago.
And about a stamp and envelope...you can buy one in just about ANY customer service desk of the supermarket now.

Bob is the Co-Founder of this forum, which survives only on the donations of it's members. The website is maintained by the generous efforts of a few here at the GTA. Any shortages of equipment and funding has to come from the efforts of someone....who do you think pays the piper if that happens?

I was typing this email 7 hours ago when company landed here at the house,so I'm gonna finish it as I started.
Bob makes and sells these triggers as a service to help us out with nice guns with crappy trigger and doesn't deserve comments like I'm seeing!
He's Retired and has dedicated his spare time to helping out us addicted air gunners and this is what he gets from Newbies that just popped out of no where.I don't really see the big problem getting a Postal money order and sending it as I just done it for Bulleye Bill last week.Bob's not the only one affected by the so called''Savior'',,and from what I'm seeing,,he's not doing much other than playing Golf while the Country's in a heck of a Mess!

3 Months to get a trigger sound's like a long time to save up $32,but some younger members I understand has to save their allowance,and that's to be expected.It takes me about 20 minutes to go to the PO,,buy the money order,stamp it and then send it on.The government has caused all the inconvenience so I'd be growling at them,and not the Gentleman that's enjoying his hobby and providing a valuable service for us.PayPal used to be the payment option,,but Thanks to the Government,,it's no more.

I have No problem sending a MO,,none at all,and even if it were a pain,,I'd still be giving my money to Bob and not the guy that sells the knockoff of the GRT,(The CBR) being sold by S In NC.

That's it. Say no more, I've been served. I really have no issue with all of your responces. It doesn't matter if I don't understand the additional cost that are involved in CC purchase's with all the transaction and batch fee's along with maintaining a minimum amount of processing charges per month from each CC company. I could only imagine that it all adds up. It all so doesn't matter that I live in Chicago we corruption is virtue, high tax's is compassion and where you need a permit to prey to God. I know nothing about additional paper work and what it takes to bring a product to market like overhead, marketing and product liability insurance and so on.
I do have issue with one thing, the fact that I have Old Glory as my avatar should clearly state that I'm not a Obama supporter.

One more thing, were not attacking anyone in particular just the process.
