First time I've been able to do this

If you look at my signature you'll see I only have low end break barrel springers.  Most of them I have tuned with the helpful guidance of various member on the forum.  One that I own I received as a gift from SteveP-52, it was professionally tuned my Mike Melick.  Learning how to shoot it accurately has made me a better shooter.  Today I reached a milestone for me that I have been unable to do with any other of my rifles. This is the first time I've been able to shoot a dime size group at 30 yards. I know you guys and gals who shoot PCPs this isn't a great accomplishment but to me it is hugh. Made my day.

In all fairness, I have shot for hours with a few hundred pellets to learn what it takes/took to accomplish this today. Every minute every hour I spent was a pleasure to me. This is the challenge I have referred to in previous post. That is why I like shooting springers,  laugh if you like, I do this for enjoyment.

Thanks Scott that means a lot coming from you. Steve told me it was possible,  I've reduced the size of my groups across the board on all of my springers simply by learning how to shoot this rifle. I believed Steve and he believed in me. Even though we've never met I attribute my success in part to him though his gift of this extremely accurate air rifle. I felt I couldn't let him down after he had chosen me to be the recipient of this rifle.

FDAR has some great deals on their guns at a very reasonable price too, those are great groups, I've never been much for spring guns myself but getting groups like that makes me think twice about getting one of those guns, I have a mold that cast's wad cutters too, they're 16.4 grains too so they'd probably be good out of a gun like that.  Mercy sakes I have way to many guns to begin with.

Thanks Wayne,  I really means a lot when folks like you who have raked up a zillion post encouraging me. I appreciate your comments.  I'm not a wealthy guy and my pistol and rifle powder burners were costing me a ton. Even though I reload I still was spend a lot on components and powder. I got into airguns as a cheap hobby and fell in love with springers.  At this point I have no desire to step over to the dark side cause I having so much fun on the bright side.

At 30 yards, that's FANTASTIC shooting! It's not just the rifle, you've found what the rifle likes and how it needs to be handled. I'd be floating on cloud 9 with a group like that.

 I agree, low budget guns are more grins per dollar when everything comes together.
 Along those lines, to get a group like that at 30 yards it is more that just the gun, give yourself some of the credit... To be that repeatable with a Springer take a lot of skill.

Great shooting Dan. You should be very happy with yourself. The most expensive rifle doesn't make a bad shooter good. It takes real talent to do what you did with a piston gun. I would be happy to shoot that group from any of my Weihrauchs at 30 yards.

I read too many posts where people gives up on a springer because they just can't seem to shoot it. Sure they've practiced......for several days now!

Thanks Ron, I really appreciate your comments.  I often read where people with Weihrauchs shoot these kinds of groups out to 45, 50 and beyond. I never expected to reach 30 yds with any of mine. I am gaining in skill from practice,  learning from each outing.  One day I hope to get a Weihrauchs or two.
