392 scope mount opinions and options please

After reading through this thread, I think i’ll order a Mac1 base for my 397 and either a bsa 2x7x28, or a utg 2x7x32 pistol scope for scout style mounting.

I’ve been using a 2 piece over the breech base from PA; and while it works, it puts the scope too high, plus I can’t pump the rifle in the normal fashion.

Just wish I could find a pistol scope with adjustable objective in the price range of the bsa or leapers.
The only pistol scope I know of that has the AO is Burris, but it’s over $400.00.
I believe it’s a 3x12x32.

Not sure you need an AO for a short range (relatively speaking) air rifle with a scout configured pistol scope. Pistol scopes are set at 50 yards (?) which works well for air rifle ranges. Burris scopes are fine equipment, I have two of their rifle scout models on my PBs.

I really like the Mac1 mount. My rings are Leupold Rifleman vertical split low. My scope is a BSA Edge 2X pistol scope which unfortunately was discontinued. Fortunately my wife allowed me to buy two. I really like the little scope. I may change my mind but I do not see why I would. I have the spare mounted on a Ruger .22 pistol.

I have one of the Mac1 mounts, and while it is a nice mount I wish it came with the rings already built into it.  By the time you add rings to it your scope is way above the bore.

Randy, the Hawke low profiles work pretty well with the Mac1 IA mount at keeping the scope closer to the bore.

Those look good. All important to have your head down enough for a good cheek weld... especially when using non parallax adj. scopes,
Which i’m probably going to go with on my 397.

Hopefully I am not breaking a rule. I post this link only because the BSA scope is long discontinued but apparently there still are a few here and there. I had looked a few weeks back and found none I had thought:

BSA still lists the 2x20 on their website as in stock.
The 2x7x28 and the 2x7x32 pistol scopes show out of stock, but says nothing about discontinued on any of them?

Yes, but when I bought my two they were listed as NLA or out of stock. I bought the last two from Optics Planet. I now see they are back, so good deal, then no worries . Because I need another now. I put my spare on my Ruger Mark IV so now I need another. Sorry for the side track.

Lol, I guess I joined the club? Ordered a Mac 1 barrel base, now to make up my mind which pistol or scout scope to go with .

Leaning toward the utg 2x7x32(out of stock till June 1st at pa).
13.8” of eye relief on 7 power and 20 to 25” on 2 power.
14”should allow me to pump in the normal fashion.
