Mods to the new 39x synthetic stock?

No, Ive not got one yet, so Im day dreaming of the mods Ill do when I get one.....

to wit: can you "checker" synthetic materials? Or should I jsut plan on stippling a la' Glock pistol frames?

Im good either way, just seems that checkering has a lot of pleasing patterns to copy, and stippling is just for ergonomics....
