I moved here from San Diego, CA, courtesy of the U.S. Army. I know the closest airgun club is in Atlanta, but not really willing to drive almost four hours just to shoot. I'm wanting to know if there is any other air gunners close to Fort Stewart who would be willing to to possibly start a club here, or close to Savannah, or Richmond Hill area. Thanks.

I live in Savannah and have only shot a short time (airguns). I too would like to shoot with a club and have more exposure to air gunning. The closest I've found has been in South Carolina see the posts at

Nice bunch of people but still quite a ways to travel to shoot. I shoot almost everyday at the Quick Shot Range in Savannah and will check to see what the RO's say about shooting Airguns at the DNR range in Richmond Hill, hopefully this Friday if we make it down there. Right now I have two Springer Rifles and a co2 pistol.

Frankie,
Thanks for replying. I've been shooting air guns for over 20 years, and although being active duty military has afforded me opportunities to live in many different places, however because of this it's hard to find air gun clubs close by. I did find one in San Diego, and that was awesome for the time I was there, but now I'm here, and back to square one. So I figured I would put a post on a couple of forums and see who might be interested in starting a club here. I would be interested in hearing what your RO has to say about shooting air guns at there range. If you don't mind my asking whats the cost the shoot there? I currently own a Diana model 56TH (Springer), a QB78D & 79 repeater (Both are CO2). My QB79 was tuned by Mike M at Flying Dragon.

The RO at the range says they welcome all shooters. In order to shoot you must purchase a fishing or hunting or any sportsman Georgia State license. The range is free to use to any license owner. They do close one day a week and I forgot which day but definitely open on the weekend. It can get crowded on the weekend but most shooters are hunting now. Unfortunately they are closing for repairs until about the middle of November ( hopefully no longer than the 12th). The range has been greatly improved this past year and has a 50 yard pistol range, a 100 yard rifle range and an archery range with 3D targets and several practice butts. The range is well run now (contrary to pass experiences) and well maintained. I have a Diana 54 in 177, a 56TH in 22 and a crossman 2300S. Looking at a PCP purchase but haven't been able to pull the trigger on any purchases yet. The range is located on Kilkenny road off of Hwy 144 in Richmond hill. Look to turn left on 144 just after the mile marker 21. The range road is on the left and well marked with a sign.

You guys are probably too far away to shoot with us. We have a group of guys that just get together for fun shooting. I'm in the Atlanta area though. Franke I answered your question about GA airgun dealers in the post you made.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check them out! I have been trying to make it up to one of your shoots but the times just haven't worked out for me yet. Maybe someday soon......
