Daga of the 900

Back in April, I "purchased" a Daisy 900 on ebay.
I paid the seller's Buy It Now price, and she shipped it.
I waited for delivery, as it languished at my local PO for a couple of days.
Then, it was returned to the seller at her request!
She said she mixed up the shipping of 2 guns on the same day.
Seller's remorse ??

When she got it back from the "incorrect" recipient, it was supposedly missing the 5 shot clips.
I told her I didn't care, just ship, but she wouldn't.
Well, for the sake of brevity, she refunded my $$$ and that was that.

Over the nest 6 months, she listed the 900 at 4X what I had paid for it.
Her priced would fall, then rise, then the auction would be taken down.
She repeated this many,many times.
Whenever the price fell to close to reasonable, I would have my son-in-law toss out a "Best Offer"
near what I had paid. It was always rejected, and usually not countered.
(One other forum member tired on my behalf as well....thanks!)

Well, to make a long story not quite so long,
My son-in-law's latest offer was ACCEPTED !!!
He received the gun yesterday and he says it is a beaut!!
AND, he got it for LESS than I had previously pad !

There are many morals to be had from this story.
Now, I can't decide whether to let the seller know or not.........

I've wondered more than once if sellers play that game. "It broke when I was packing it..." was the story used on me once.

Personally, I'd rub her nose in it. But, that's just me.

I'd send her a thank you card. Then report her as a untrustworthy seller.

I should receive my 900 on Tuesday or Wednesday (depends on arrival time of my family.)
Been a long saga, but I think the fulfillment is near.......


BTW...I did message her that I would be receiving the gun after all....at a LOWER $$$$............

At long last, the Saga of the Daisy 900 has concluded!
My son in law. who had purchased the rifle from that flake ebayer, FORGOT to bring it when they visited for Thanksgiving!

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!

I was convinced that i was destined to never receive this SSP.......

Well, i drove to Texas to purchase a lathe, and visited my daughter's family in the process.
The Daisy is darn near in new condition.
There are 2 holes in the buttstock on one side where Daisy had apparently attached a sign when the rifle was hanging in their museum...
Other than that, not a mark nor scratch.....
Not exactly a bar of gold, but a gem nonetheless. It is the only 900 I have ever run across.
Only one hurdle remained:  to get it home.

Tho I was convinced that some ill would befall me on the drive home, my fears were unfounded.
I arrived home safe and sound today with the 900 solidly in my possession.

I has  been a long journey, but it has concluded successfully!

ed....Mine WAS the only one I had ever seen, til one showed up on the "bay" yesterday...............
