Sunday morning fun testing with the HW77 that I tuned.

So this morning after my daughter came over for breakfast I decided to pull out the HW77 that I tuned and do some more testing. This rifle has the Vortek 2 full power kit in it and I lightly polished what needed to be polished, honed what needed to be honed, and deburred what needed it, and properly lubed. This rifle now has 1000 pellets down the pipe and I plan on testing it every 500 or so pellets just to see what type of life I get out of this kit. I will also be testing a rifle with tune consisting of worked factory components too. Oh, and the Diana 56TH that Hector Medina sent me will be here tomorrow for testing as well (I'm very excited about that).
This test was done at 20 yards with H&N FTT'S 14.66 gr pellets and the results are as follows:

Group 1 (cold bore no warm up).

Shot 1- 696 fps
Shot 2- 694 fps
Shot 3- 699 fps
Shot 4- 699 fps
Shot 5- 701 fps
7 fps spread over 5 shots.

Group 2

Shot 1- 700 fps
Shot 2- 703 fps
Shot 3- 707 fps
Shot 4- 706 fps
Shot 5- 710 fps
10 fps spread over 5 shots

Group  3

Shot  1- 709 fps
Shot  2- 703 fps
Shot  3- 696 fps (this particular pellet was looser than in fit than the rest)
Shot  4- 707 fps
Shot  5- 714 fps
18 fps spread over 5 shots (11 fps spread without the odd size pellet in the group).

Group  4

Shot  1- 706 fps
Shot  2- 706 fps
Shot  3- 704 fps
Shot  4- 703 fps
Shot  5- 704 fps
Only a 3 fps spread over 5 shots once the rifle starting getting warmed up.

Low of 15.68 FPE
High of 16.6 FPE
Average of 16.28 FPE

Clear morning, 70f, no wind, at 5200' elevation, absolutely perfect conditions for testing this morning and I did my best so these results are without any excuses.

I just pulled out my range finder and I can go up to 30 yards in my yard, which I will do soon. But I'll have to remove the roots from my arse that grew in my chair out back and actually go to the shooting range for 50 yards lol. Might be a minute for that

Not hold sensitive at all and there is no perceived recoil! Great power too!

Yes sir my friend, that rifle did indeed seem like a perfect fit for you from the very first shot! I plan on tuning that one too but I don't know if I will attempt it myself or have someone else do it. I guess we'll see how much of a man I can get myself to be when the time comes lol.........

Thanks! No, that’s not really a rest, it’s a stand for one of my Bonsai trees that I use to set the chronograph on when I’m crunching numbers. I shoot using a pair of homemade sticks. I’m sure if I did shoot from a rest that I could close up the groups even more.
