FWB300 Junior vs 300S

I have a chance to buy an FWB300 junior model and am wondering how it differs compared to a 300S and/or M?  I’m 6’ tall and will be using the rifle for informal 10 meter target practice and air rifle metallic silhouette competition.  I don’t want to purchase a rifle designed for junior shooters.  Is there a post somewhere describing the different FWB300 variations?  Thanks, Tom

Here is a good discussion on the 300 vs 300s. No mention of the junior but I think I can find the specs. I’ll look around. I know I’ve read them but did not commit to memory.

Not finding anything about a 300 junior, not even in the blue book. Maybe only the 300s was made in a junior. The 300s junior is 1.5 lbs lighter than the adult version. The butt of the junior is shortened for smaller shooters but 3/8 spacers are made that will suffice to make LOP proper for larger shooter. It has no barrel shroud or barrel weight either. Perhaps more nimble but for off hand shooting like silhouette, the weights are nice.

Thanks very much for the information. Am trying to find out exactly how much shorter the “mini/junior (the names seemed to be used interchangeably)” are and if a 300S or 300M would be preferable for offhand.  Thanks again, Tom

Just measured my 300s . total length is 42 inches to center of butt pad
LOP is 13 inches. The 300s mini 39 inches to center of butt pad and 12 and half LOP.  I dont have scale but the mini is probably a pound and half lighter
at least. Im 6 ft and long arms and dont have any problem wit the mini.You

I have a FWB300s, it is a fine air rifle.  I'll be 70 in a few months, I'd give up 1/2" of pull length if one and a half pounds of weight went with it.

Good vintage 10 meter rifles ar known to be heavy. You may need to do some strength training.

I very much like my 300S Mini. I had a full size 300s and still have a 300. My 300 is set up with the factory diopter sights. The 300s Mini has a little 3-9x scope on it. The Mini is perfect for backyard precision shooting. For 10m offhand shooting with diopter sights, the heavier 300 or a full size 300s is easier to shoot.

I'm 5' 10" and the lop with the Mini is a little short but not enough to make me hunt down one of the spacers to bump it up. I like the more compact feel. When camping with family members that are non airgun shooters, I bring the 300s Mini for pcp-like accuracy without the need for tanks. The non-shooters can burn through a lot of pellets when shooting a gun as fun and accurate as the 300s. Easy cocking only helps the situation.

Springers wouldn't have the reputation that they do if there were more FWB 300 variation guns in the world.
