HH35E experience

Well last night I was at my local indoor range,New England Airgun, shooting my 22 Air King. A fellow shooter next to me was visiting from a few states away. He was adjusting his FX bull pup and chatting as I was getting ready to leave. He remarked how much he liked his Air King so I said if you want to shoot something real nice hang on. I pulled out my HW35E , give it a go. After showing him how to open the barrel he settled down to shoot. His first remark was “ I don’t know if I can shoot this , I haven’t used peeps for a long time”. First shot dead center” Wow that was luck “ he said. Second shot ragged hole. “(Something along lines like gosh golly )this  Gun is a shooter. “ How did you ever get the trigger so nice”?. Motörhead I said. He was just shaking his head and mumbling how much he was impressed. This coming from a springer guy means a lot .

After I got the first HW35E in .177 I had to repeat myself with the .22.  They are night and day apart! 
Those 35Es made me add more HWs, some stronger and one even more interesting: HW30S .22!  This little gun is only 5.5 lbs and is not sighted in at 20 yards consistently hitting within a half inch with the .22 JSB Exact Heavy!  It loves heavies.

I have two .177 cal. HW35E's.  One is a pre-owned stainless version tuned by Motorhead.  The other is a new DIY lube tuned, albeit with Moorhead tophat and guide on the OEM mainspring.  Both wear Nikon Prostaff EFR 3-9x40 scopes.  Both seen to prefer CPHP pellets above all others???

The HW35E's are indeed pretty but, neither of these rifles are; thus far, as accurate as my DIY tuned & scoped, HW50s, HW97K, Diana 34, Beeman R7, or even my scoped, and somewhat plebian, HW30S. 

Is it me or the rifles....'The Shadow' knows.....

You are right about the CPHP and the HW35.
I haven’t tried them all but I tried most of them.
7.0, 8.2 (WC), 7.33, 8.4, 8.64, 10.34, 10.5, etc...
The 7.9 CPHP fits nice and tight with no air blowby..

I've had the best luck with CPL or JSB 7.87's.  The CPL's fit the barrel tightly and the JSB's fit loose.

Thanks, Kirk.  I've tried both of those plus the AA 7.87's, et al.  We keep coming back to the CPHP's as the preferred pellet.     The silver 35E should be broken in by now; granted, the blue one is a relatively newbie.  Maybe over time......?
