My 880 pump handle likes to pop back out instead of staying latched. I believe I had read it may be a bad pump head seal. If I remove the pump handle assembly, a piston with several seals and a foam wiper are attached, is the seal in question part of that assembly?

its the rubber bushing behind the piston.. they degrade over time

Easiest to install using a 6" bench vise, as that "elastomer spring" requires a goodly amount of force to compress....
