What rifle are you planning on upgrading? A simple "fix" would be as simple as covering the existing site with JB Weld then filing smooth and painting matte black. Each rifle has its own mode of attaching the site. On the Ruger Air Hawk, for example, the front sight is a slip on/knock off type that centers on a flat filed to the front of the barrel. Since I'm shooting it scoped it was simply a matter of knocking it off and leaving it off. But covering it with JB Weld or some kind of epoxy putty would enable one to file to an appropriate shape and paint it. Another option would be to remove the site and use a pin screwed into the front sight mount, similar to what I did on my Gamo CFX - although in that case I replaced the entire muzzle shroud/front sight with a custom made (ugly as sin) aluminum block with a pin installed for use as a front sight. Works a treat with an appropriate peep sight.

I'm a peaceful man and prefer the pursuit of peaceful sports. Those involving teams and balls of any sort tend to be deleterious to one's body and promote violence by both spectators and participants. The shooting sports, however, tend to promote self control and are peaceably participated in by those who know that their greatest challenge is their need to continually hone their own abilities.

For open sights I really prefer the Williams peep . I’m not certain if there’s a model that would fit the Diana but it may be worth looking into .

To Hobbyman2007, I am looking to replace the front sight, the rear will be replace with a peep sight Thanx To AMBroCol, JB Weld! I had forgotten about that stuff. I few years ago I fixed a hole punched into the lower unit case and it worked out great. Thanx for reminding me about that stuff that hole repair is still water tight Thanx guys for your thoughts and time. AmBroCol your salutation could not be put any better. I think I might borrow your wisdom and use as my salutation. Thanx again. Joe

So, how did it work out? If you'd like a peep, Midway USA has the Williams peeps available, I think I even saw the version with the target knobs on it. Just make sure you order the ones that work with the dovetail. At one time Pyramyd Air had the Mendoza peep and I bought a couple of them. Still have one in reserve for occasional use on the CFX.
