It is roughly 5-1/4" center to center!
Dennis, Do you have the newer stock yet? I may have one for you.I sent my 50s (just the business end) off for tuning. Short story is that it's been missing in shipment for 5 days. If UPS cannot find it in the next week or so, I'm told they'll refund the amount for which I ensured it. If that happens, you are welcome to my stock (like new) for the cost of shipping it to you from TN. Pat
Firstshirt,If he doesn't need U would be interested. I have a similar needy 55 that needs a replacement stock.Or if anyone has a lead in an older stock i'd appreciate hearing about it.Thanks
Hey u know what Dennis I'm glad u put this post out there! that stock I measured looks to be a HW30 Deluxe stock! that was suppose to be replacement stock for my HW50!!!!! from AOA!!!! that's where the measurement comes in at 5-1/4'' so I guess they sent me the wrong stock!!!!
Hi Dennis,Mine is from 1965-66 and a 55s. Sometime during its life, someone milled out the last approx 1-1\2 to 2" of the stock. I have no idea why they would have done it. I thought about making some filler pcs, gluing them in and refinishing it but my woodworking skills are not up to it. If anyone out there has 😠 woodworking ability please let me know. I' d prefer to keep it original..
I might have one or 2 HW 50S stocks for sale soon. The guns were purchased earlier this year from Krale.-Y
Hi Dennis, as far as I know it is original. I looked tonight and the butt pad has a "w" embedded in it some assume it's for weihrauch?? It's not adjustable, just located where it should be if the wood was not missing. Your stock is a "bayern" style (??) With that triple angled cheek pc while mine is just a straight stock with no cheek on either side. I have another 55 from 1987 however the stock feels thicker and not nearly as checkered. Shoots nice though. If love to find another stock for mine. Your doesn't look to bad, are you just missing parts? That on might look good on my gun if you find a 50s stock from one of these fine fellows😃
Thanks Dennis and congrats on the the sights. I'm missing sights on mine also but I put a small scope when I shoot them. I think I could handle the cut out on the 50s, I'm looking for someone to fix the milled out part of my current stock. It would need to be fitted with pcs that match the current stock curvature in the same wood , glued in and shaped accordingly, stripped and refinished..skills I currently don't possess. It's why it's been hanging on the wall waiting for a replacement or skilled wood worker to come along..IMy parents always said patience is a virtue...
