Don't laugh too hard. My first attempt at checkering a grip. The tape is covering a hole left from relieving much of the material under the trigger guard in order to raise the grip, and lower the barrel centerline closer to the hand.

It will be filled with JB Epoxy putty and finish shaping. It was far too short for my hunt tonight. It is very uncomfortable at present.

Once the shaping is complete, I will stipple the sides of the grip.

You all know what the stock grip looks like, so the work will be self explaining.

Odd thing about this ag pistol is that the barrel arrived fully lapped and polished. it was purchased new from Wes Bob. Who was a true pleasure to to do business with. The work on the barrel is very well done.

I haven't ask him about the work on it. Who ever did it, it is impressive. One hole at 30 yards, rested on a bag with a less than precise red dot HOLO sight. Woah! and this with cheapie Crosman HP. in the tin. Unreal!

Add to this, Hobby sent me a mold to deck that is a .224 offering from NOE, and is now a 29 grainer. I size down in two steps to .2165 and it is a laser in this gun at 19 fpe. Without touching the reg.

the RAM is three shots at 80 yards with the bullets and HOLO sight. Wow!!!

Has anyone else received a Artemis 700 SA with a worked barrel? I do know that SPA barrels are good and bad, luck of the draw. Did I just get lucky, or is something else up?

I contacted Rocker-1 to inquire about an LDC adapter, as i have two of his units here and enjoy the quiet.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I thought all the SPA barrels in this pistol were good. Mine certainly is. I have not heard of bad barrels in this pistol.

What is "one hole"? To be technical (I am Techie after all), one hole can be anything from the diameter of the pellet to something huge. I get 1/2" 5-shot groups at 25 yards with JSB 15.89 with an untouched, out-of-the-box gun (with a 4x scope). Well, I did adjust the hammer spring and "regulator" (if you can call it that).

Apx .30 cal hole at 30 yards with the bullets. (Or less than 1/4" if I am really paying attention). The 80 yard group of three is two touching. the green dot is apx 3/4" and was not present during shooting. Simply put there for size comparisons. This in not with a scope. The Dot covers most of the target at that range, so it is a wag when I pull the trigger.

(Yep, good barrels on them. However, a good barrel and a fully polished bore is something else again). Something that is normally avaliable at a huge mark up on high end custom guns. For instance, AAA gets 300 bucks for this service. Shocked to say the least!

I will install the Zeiss on it and see what it can really do.

Michael mine always has been very accurate, I've never even tried going over 30 yards with it though, that cheapie scope I have on it is worthless out any further than that.

Nice work on the grip Knife . Ive been thinking of doing something similar but I’m not much into carving . If I knew I could get a replacement for cheap I might tackle it .

I sure hope you cast a fair amount of the shortened bullets . It will be a week or so before I can get to it and therefore sending you some replacements .

I'm seriously thinking of making a grip out of either Canvas Micarta or Green/Black laminated and phenolic resin.

Should be an interesting project.

Nvreloader (Don), sent an NOE .22 pellet mold for me to play with.

I was very pleased at just how easy the little .22 pellet mold was to cast with.

The Accuracy in the Artemis SA 700 Air Pistol was outstanding.

Here are the results. First 10 shots at 20 yards, with these 20.2 Gr .22 pellets. I will Chrony them tomorrow. Just had a small storm, anf far too dark to get good readings.

However, that isn't a Grip. It's a stock. I am a handgunner at heart, and why I bought it. I enjoy a rifle for long range, and this will not do it.

I am also a serious bowman. (Wonder why you cant use the name for bow shooting here on this forum)? Here is what it gives. @=S+S%^$#, and have a ton of trophies. However, It is hand guns I'm really good at. HandGunning is my Martial Art. I love shooting 1911 .45's out to 400 yards on the 30" gong on Ft Hood. Won quite a bit of money doing that.

Have out shot many an AR shooter with both handguns and .257 airguns. the Soldiers really hate being shown up by an old man with a Bb gun. LOL

Killed a lot of wild hogs at 100 to 200 yards with 1911, both standing still and they running thru the trees. Most have no idea a .45 is capable of this.

Airgunning with a Pistol, is something I can afford the keep sharp with.

Night time Scorpion count on my range, and the shooting backstop/berm in particular has numbered now to 1040 killed since the 21st of may.

I really enjoy it!

Holy Snackbar Knife

Put a small light pistol scope on the little bugger, would make for better target results,
can hold finer on the targets etc. That's outstanding shooting with Iron sights,
I would love to get a air pistol, been looking real hard at a Crosman 150.

I am a Hand Gunner also, first love, but I must shoot a scope to see with, eyes going bad etc.
I would post some photo's of my Desert Sheep, Elk, Speed Goats and Dropper Mule Deer,
all taken with handguns, but I would get sent to the corner of the round room, LOL

Glad that mold works OK, using pure lead for casting?

I believe the traditional hammer and how it strikes the valve is what makes this gun so good. Some would be concerned about hammerfall messing up the shot process but it’s quite the opposite with an airgun. I have a Rhom Twinmaster Trainer CO2 pistol. No matter what I do to a 2240 or CP1, they can’t touch the Rhom. The Rhom has a traditional hammer that cracks the valve. I believe that the hammer system that uses a big spring that sends a slug down a tube to crack the valve is not the most efficient way of doing things. No matter how jacked up your tune is on the PP700, you never get a blubbery report or hammer bounce. When it comes to powder burners, yes there is a difference. I can detect the hammer fall on my Encore or Contender compared to my XP100 or Lone Wolf. With airguns, I think the traditional hammer is quicker and doesn’t upset the gun.

I'm more and more convinced the Artemis-branded SPA guns are cherry-picked higher-QA-controlled specimens.

Mine- a PP700 from Krale is technically the Artemis PP700 and is a laser with most pellets.

Michael the next mold I purchase will probably be the 217 wadcutter, I'll bet those shoot really good for closer shots from the PP700SA. I'm simply REALLY enjoying the airgun ammo casting myself, it's icing on the cake when it comes to this airgun hobby.

Everything I read about these PP700s sounds amazing, I see the one with a folding stock and a removable moderator as the ideal backpack gun.

Seems like mostly every post I read is about the .22, are the .177s also later accurate?

It is truly a shockingly accurate pistol. It gets so many shots per co2 that I get bored before the co2 runs out. Shoots about as hard as my P17. Too bad Rhom folded.

These pellets are works of art. I will probably never attempt to mold my own pellets or slugs but that won’t stop me from admiring the work of others.
