Is it time for pre-order holders to discuss a class action lawsuit? It sure seems like the lies and broken promises are going unchecked.

No idea what's up the Hammer, but any company with even a 2 bit lawyer would have had a get out of jail card (or two, or three) buried in the fine print. Have you looked over the terms and conditions of the pre-order?

forget the lawsuit, it wont solve anything

If you really want to make them do something, then DO NOT PREORDER. If youve got a preorder "out there", cancel it. Vote with your dollars, tell them why you've canceled the preorder. (yea I know, its a cool gun, but it aint cool if you dont have it......)

Umarex, and others, get away with it cuz we as a group, jump on the cool stuff as soon as its announced. We, as a group, need to STOP making preorders from any vendor and pound their inbox with emails that say" Ill order this when I see it IN STOCK at my favorite retailer." IMO these companies are using the preorders as a way to gage the market, and then decide how much resrouces to put behind the offerings.

Again, Ill buy it when I see it in stock at a couple retailers. And Pyramid et al needs to be reminded of the same thing. We are not doing preorders, tell me when you have it in stock.

WE control this market with our money, and the sooner Umarex and the other vendros understands this, the sooner this nonsense will stop.

By time it's in the hands of the retailer (if it ever makes it there), it's going to be obsolete and something better will have come along! I think Dan nailed, want to send a message? Cancel your pre-order! I'd imagine once they got word the thousands of pre-orders are being cancelled in rapid succession and their predicted profits are shrinking proportionally, it'll light a fire under their back-sides!

.....if you pre-order is your choice, live with it.

Anyone that pre-orders and then whines about deliveries just makes me laugh.

wouldnt be an issue NP, if these comapnies acutally shipped in a reasonable time ( IMO <60 days)

Pre-orders? Heck, I won't even order it until I see some REAL reviews. And I don't mean the ones where the guy has a logo on his shirt.
Same with backorders... if I get an e-mail that my purchase was back ordered you can expect my order to be cancelled...

I think 60 days is reasonable for a pre-order, if one chooses to go that route. After 60 days, and certainly over 6 months to a year or more (in the case of the Hammer), I see that as a broken promise and should be considered a breech of contract! If Vendors would automatically issue refunds for any pre-orders that were not delivered within 60 days of the pre-order date, I bet you'd these tings coming to market at or before the 60 days!

Nobody forces anybody to Pre-order

there's enough data out there to tell anyone what it can happen

If you want to pre-order go right ahead, but please don't cry later if deliveries dates aren't what you expected

Not a matter of what I expect, its what the vendor says...... Hes says itll be shipping in 6 weeks and its doesnt, tahts not MY expectation. THats a failiure of some sort on their end.

If you cant/wont make the dates you publish, then either dont publish an availabilty date or pad the date a lot so you wont miss it.

I don't think a class action suit stands a snowball's chance if you have the option to receive a refund at your request.
At least that's the way Judge Judy would see it.

at this point it's all on you, don't try blame others.

..... and yes, they don't deliver on the day ? ....cancel and move on, no need crying, plenty guns out there

Agreed on the horror stories..... Ive cancelled a few preorders and seriously thinking of cancelling the one I currently have.

Preorder ship dates are often accompienied by "explanations" of why the date slips, or worse, no explanation at all....

I didnt take tg OP's post as "crying", more of a call to arms.

So if you had an successful class action suit, what would the remedy be?

Force the foreign manufacturers to produce rifles immediately?

Secure the rifles from an alternate universe that is enjoying their Hammer rifles on time?

Free/discounted rifles when/if they become available?

Recreational outrage... a new sport.

There’s always the FTC and Dept of Commerce to complain to. They make and enforce the rules of commerce in our country. These fantasy available dates and vapor guns could be construed as false enticement/false advertising. They would be the folks that could implement change, but it would take a lot to redirect that barge! I doubt if every air gunner wrote their congressman that we’d have enough of a voice to institute a change. .

I'll preorder a video game that's been in development for a few years tht is a sequel to get a whatever game tshirt or some other cool free merch when their is a set release date but I'm only out 50 or 60 bucks and if they push it back I'll cancel. But I will never put down that much cash on an untested product. Vote with your wallet. As everyone above saidIf no one pre ordered your force the companies to either make a product and release it or not you dont let them play with ideas of what would be popular or not and do market research or whatever they want to do with their preorder system.

I'm very irked that I still don't have the .357 Slayer I paid $2100 (+$300 for a honed barrel) on Jan 6 this year [over 7 months] but I do eventually expect to get it, AAA is just slow manufacturering.

But the Hammer is just vapor and I would never put money down on a gun not even in production.
