Latest Crosman 760 Pumpmaster.

Hello Guys from South-Africa.
Got myself one of these last week, to help kill time during my 6 week recovery after back surgery.
I am not to sure where to search for information regarding tuning etc., on this latest version, want to start  by trying to better the trigger.
Can you please point me in the right direction.

Do you have the black plastic clam shell version? That is where the receiver and butt stock are molded into the two sides. If so the best thing you could do is buy a rifled barrel for it. I did that with mine on the advise of a member here. Search for info on how to do that because you will need a barrel stabilizer and a new front sight, all for less that $15 USD. I do not know about shipping to S.A. however.

I opened mine up when I put the new barrel on it and was amazed at how little is in there. The trigger is all plastic, even the tension which is normally a spring is part of the trigger. I`m not sure there is much you can do with it. Hopefully someone who has messed with it will chime in for you.

There are other things you can do to improve the gun you may want to consider. I didn`t care for the clapping sound when pumping the gun so I filled the pump are with fiberglass resin. I removed it from the gun of course as it takes about a day for that to set-up. I also drilled a small hole in the butt stock and filled it with most of a tube of caulk. Now the gun feels solid when I pick it up and pump it. With the scope it put on it I can get about a dime size hole at eleven yards sitting with the gun on a rest. This is better than the quarter size hole the smooth bore gave me. The gun is now one of my most fun guns to shoot!

Oh, and I also glued the bb port so it will remain a pellet only gun to preserve accuracy.

All you can really do on a 769 trigger is lighten the spring a bit.
The trigger spring also detents the safety so when you do this enough to make a difference it makes the safety too easy to accidentally operate.
It's not much of a safety concern if you're just plinking by yourself and know how to safely handle a gun, but it's annoying when you go to pull the trigger and nothing happens messing up your shot.

This guy does a trigger “tune” on a M4-177, same internals as a Pumpmaster, or was. Helped me. Basically he greases up all the contact points.
