My silver  streak  is stamped Benjamin Sheridan Racine, Wisconsin. It has the  push pull safety and serial  W154483.  I was told it was made in 1991.  Is this right?

"WI 54483" is the end of the address for Racine Wisconsin.  If made from about 1971 or newer the serial # is on the left side of the tube, 6 digits, rather small font.

Benjiman Sheridan Racine-WI- 53403 is on the right side.  W154483 is on the left side and is the serial number.  I presume the W has some significance.

Can you explain?
I am familiar with the early Thumb hold down safety, then the later Rocker safety and final (I think) was the Tang safety...
But none of them I would describe as "push pull".

My Silver Streak purchased in Jan 91 has SN 552186 on left - no W - does have Zip Code 53403 on right.

I should have included C 9 in the description.  Does anyone know the significance of the "W" serial number.  Yes 53403 Racine zip code is on the right.

Ahhhh.... Yes, C9 helps.
That would be what is referred to as the tang safety.
If you read through Flints post linked above by DanD you will notice several with a "W".
You could post yours there and ask what significance it means.
My C9 is W074140 and Flint dated mine to Mid 1992
With the Racine made C9's being made between the beginning of 1991 and the end of 1993. I'd put yours towards the end of the Production run.
