Soon, duy is doing a little more development, testing. He's been testing a prototype that is not ideal. The finished piece will have a bit mpre volume and a more precise radius. Soon he'll have at leat one more to work with. We'll call that turkey done soon.

Hi Billy, send me any and all suggestions anytime. this statement stuck to me : "net gain, 1% here, 2% there." i was listening. my friend. anything added to net gain is good for me.
Your prototype plenum is good enough to go from 951fps to 1023fps with 26.1gr avs slugs. and i haven't mod everything yet for that net gain. still got some more cards on hand

I will test the one hole valve and hope it gets better performance i will also document the trench vs one hole with the digital gauge in the exhaust port to see which retains more pressure.

Lol. There may be more than one type of aluminum used. 7075 for the ten mm nipple, 7068 for a 1/2 inch nipple. Duy will soon have a 1/2 inch prototype to play wih. I believe there will be a significant, measurable difference. The larger the caliber, the larger the difference.

Just measured the depth of the reg adj at stock position. It measured out at .040 and when turned 1/4 turn CCW it was .035 approx.

Stephen's first DC valve is born, testing for sealing, will have FPS numbers tomorrow night. look forward to it. trench vs un-trenched...is that even a word?

this DC valve has radiuses all over the place except for the throat to exhaust on the upper end. that can be improved with some grinding. i know how you folks like to mod stuff, i left it as is on purpose! don't go too crazy because you are getting near the oring groove. eh hem...Stephen.

That looks like a sculpture that Leonardo DaVinci would do if he were alive today. I almost wish we had (clear) see through receivers to show the inner workings.

Thanks Brother Ray. Robert i'd have my wife do the machining if i have nails that long. but i dont play with that, i like playing with ladies hands all day long.

Stephen, i can machine a small 1 inch long and 3/16 wide slot to see hammer hits valve. that would be cool.

Oh BTW, if you guys thinking about tapping the plenum for a 1/8 npt gauge. dont do it, the hole is 0.351 and the 1/8 npt thread calls for a 0.328 hole. i had to Jbweld rated for 5000psi for peace of mind. i only had maybe 0.200 worth of proper engagement area at 0.328 hole. i tested it to a 4000psi fill with regulator spiked to 3800psi from 3600psi set. it may work fine but i would feel better if it were correct in size. so i am not recommending you go that route.
when my metric die gets here next week i can make an adapter to the plenum i would feel a lot better

It's also doing a pretty good job of putting me to shame because after I put it back together it now loses/dumps more than it did before

You too?? I had one done the beginning of July. Doc said he wanted to make sure I still had a brain. Results were I can't use that as an excuse anymore! lol Oh wait, that 's what the wife said.

This is Stephens DC valve result. Oh, lets abbreviate trench valve for DC-TR and the regular valve with 10-15 degree angle and radiuses for DC-10A... that will save me some typing like "DC trench valve or DC one hole angled radius valve"

Results: 24mpa, 3.8ksi fill, oem plenum, oem stem length. 80gr hammer weight.

(28.6gr=906fps), error, error, error, 26.1=963fps@3500psi, 26.1gr=951fps@3400psi

i kept seeing errors and did not know what caused it, looked at the IR and readers, they were covered with wood debris from shooting into 2x4.

Filled the gun up to 3.6ksi: 26.1gr=976fps

btw, i tested for valve leak and it holds air over 24hours. Time to push the rifle a little harder.

Valve Specs

DC-TR valve (trench cut for 3/16 TP)

throat: 0.255
Exhaust: 0.245x0.195 (cross section of throat and trench)
Stem length: 1.354"

max fps with oem plenum; 26.1gr=951fps
max fps with Billys 15.2cc plenum; 26.1gr=1023fps

DC-10A valve

throat: 0.255 radius
exhaust: 0.217 angled
stem length: oem 1.24" i dont remember exactly if its .120 or 1.24". even at oem length the DC-10A stem ends up being longer when it sits lower in the countersunk face. even longer with DC-TR compared to oem valve.

max fps with oem plenum; 26.1gr=976fps
max fps with Billys plenum; not yet tested

So the DC-10A wins hands down in the power department, but it is using 100psi per shot while the DC-TR uses 50psi per shot with longer stem.

DC-TR not getting enough momentum with longer stem? and DC-10A getting momentum and air moves faster? can someone lay a solid theory on this? your inputs are always welcomed. Bob, Billy, everyone? don't hesitate
