Saw a post by Edgunwest on AGN fighting for YouTubers rights and he had a link to this. Watched the whole thing, and although it's based on European law it was VERY interesting in that he outlines what's wrong and what they are doing to fight.

Ok I subscribed and replied to the email confirmation but have a question. When I receive the weekly emails from airgun101 with the new videos I cannot get the videos to open and play. I have to go to the you tube channel for the individual video makers to view them. Is that how its works or should the videos open from the emailed notice. Its kind of counter productive to still have to go thru you tube to view and a hassle as well.

I would rather not deal with you tube if at all possible. Is maybe my PC not allowing me to view the videos directly from the emails.

Works for me, must be your system/settings

Yep, the videos from the email pop right up a play for me as well.

You might go into IE settings and hit the reset to defaults button. I've had to do this before to get the links in emails to work again.

That's probably it since I have shutoff several features and do not allow any google or other tracking browsers to work on my PC.

It was very, very sad to read your response to this. Like with most things, you have to follow the money. I was really looking forward to seeing your videos on this new site. I think people are smart and will figure out what's really going on with this site eventually.

At least there is airgunflix.com that we can count on to be uncensored when viewing airgun videos.

I know that I will get heat for my response to this but so be it, so sick of the Airgun politics in this industry. Typical end users will never see the inside of this big fat mess that's divided so many in the past year. I emailed Giles and asked a few questions that must have really offended him.
I took a look at the website and was curious how others have acquired space on it, is it primarily for FX Airguns or are other brands welcome? I added a few of your Airgun Gear Show videos to one of our websites. I'm sure that you have been busy with RMAC but I'm still interested to get some of my videos up on Airguns 101. If my videos don't fit the criteria please just let me know?

His response to me was not very pleasant and since then have heard nothing from him even after offering to do anything to help the guy. Back up about a year and a half ago when we started airgunflix.com I had reached out to all these guys for help, mind you I know most ALL of them personally. These guys would not lift a finger to help because no money was involved in the equation. Now people are flocking all over this site like it's a Godsend...meanwhile our site allows everyone to play, even those that I personally can't stand. This whole thing is all about money, property and prestige for these guys. Very sad

I think Airgun 101 is good, very heavy on the FX for sure. There are others besides FX, so some diversity is available. I just took a look at airgunflix.com and that looks good too.

As far as money, youtube gave a platform that provided money and some people started to either supplement income or were able to make it a full time job. Satisfying the hoards, is a full time job requiring higher end equipment, etc. All that takes money and time, since Youtube has demonetized channels, a revenue stream has to be developed from somewhere. It may be one thing to have a full time job and do youtube on the side, however going from full time youtube gig to no money or greatly reduced is going to make them look at other revenue streams. If not being paid by via youtube, how do you make money, by advertising.

There is love for the game, yet how can a professional video airgunner make a living? Some are now asking for money from their viewers and that works too.

I would like to think that there is goodwill in the community, yet I have been around business long enough to know that goodwill does not pay a mortgage.

The majority of YouTubers make nothing off YouTube. We make our money from manufacturers and distributors paying us to showcase products they provide us. These companies won't pay unless you have a large subscriber base and a good amount of views per year. It's all about the numbers, self hosted sites do nothing for the creator but bring traffic to that said website. Its a great concept if everyone can play...if one person gets to pick and choose then that's going backwards.

it cost money to host a site .......... who ever is footing the bill should have the right to allow what the want and reject what they don't .
and we have the choice to go there or not , no arm twisting involved either way .
