My New .25 Cal Condor
«
on:
July 30, 2011, 10:25:03 PM »
Well I finally got my New .25 cal Condor out for some pics and have also had time to get my Modded shoulder pad geared up the way I wanted it,so I thought it was time to show her off to my GTA brothers.
To say I'm happy with this rifle would be an Understatement as it's just one fine piece of gear.I also wanted to wait until I received my Tri Rail and New Hawke 50mm scope on as well.
I am really really impressed with the way she shoulders now as without the Tri rail and lower rear stock pad,she was kind of off on the cheekweld,,but if anyone's held off because of this problem,,Let me just say,,it's totally comfortable once you raise the scope and put your own preference on your Butt pad as I did.
I also wanted to get her cronied by someone's crony other than mine as I thought something was wrong with mine when she was showing 35.8 gr Eunjins at 1008 fps for 80.79 fpe!
Thanks to Harry for his advise,,(and Jeff/longislandhunter for the praise I read in his hunting posts) otherwise I may have not made the plunge.
I know everyone likes something different, and some just don't like the Airforce rifles, but I have to say I love it!
Anyway, here's a picture of the New Addition, and some Serious competition for my Sumatra, lol.

Looks very nice Troy! She is a cannon at 81fpe with totally stock internals! We finally got to see her, hehe
That's a nice scope you got for her. Did you make the shoulder piece yourself? Most Condors are fine with using the stock pad if you have the tri-rail and high rings. I like an adjustable shoulder pad myself so I can get it just right. You must have a lot of space to shoot a Condor without a shroud in your yard!

Sorry Guys,,I was logged in since last night and didn't realize it.Thanks Jeff, I really Love this thing, lol.Harry,I had to make sure I posted a pic especially for you and Jeff,(Seeing you guys helped move me to the Condor side),and Yep I've got loads of room here and my neighbors are about 200 yards up the road and 150 down.It wouldn't matter anyway as they know me well and know I am an AG addict so they don't pay any attention when they hear me shooting.Oh and on the Buttpad Harry,I was about to order a Wokbutt,(And still will most likely)but I,being an ole fabricator without a lathe, got to thinking I knew what I wanted was a little longer pull length so I drilled the OEM Butt pad and used a course strap pin and threaded it into a pilot hole and then used the OEM strap pin as a 2nd accessory rail attach point.I guess the bottom line is,,it worked great and looked great so I sorta went with it he he.
Btw,I was still a bit hesitant to publish the crony results,(As you know how that usually go's),so I even went to the club and redid it to just be sure.Glad I did as mine was wrong,,theirs showed 996 fps, so mine and my buddy's crony's was 10-12 fps higher so I split the difference, lol.
DJ if you get one I think you'll Love it I'm sure as this one's sweet and she's not lacking power by No means!
Thanks everyone for the compliment's and Have a Good Evening.

That's great that you can fabricate a butt pad and different stuff. I wish I had some useful skills besides sitting at a desk all day
I work on my own cars though! and sometimes my guns
996fps or 1,008.. is not much difference. If your buddy's Chrony #'s matched yours, then I would think your #'s are more accurate, not the club's. It also depends on the lighting at the club. Do they use the indoor lights? Do you? I think those give you the most accurate reading with all the other lights out in the room. Florescent lights up above can mess up your #'s as well so it's best to turn off all the lights, and just use the Chrony's indoor lights which have been tested at the factory and designed to give the most accurate #'s.

Thanks Harry, and I think your right.I use mine with my crony lights and theirs was outdoors.I'm pretty Happy with her,Oh and btw,I leave my power wheel on 81 -8.6 as it seems to be the sweet spot.No florescent in my shooting room,he he.Now that I have my buttpad done,,I think I'm leaving that as it is,Perfect.
IMHO,,there's nothing like a Condor, as it's Tune-able,Mod-able and Highly Shoot-able,lol.I Love this Rifle!!!
Thanks

Yep, love all 3 of my Condors!
It's nice to "see" the pellet strike exactly where you are aiming. The Condor .22 did not disappoint yesterday on yet another Groundhog
I always look for the impact on the skull and always find it where the crosshairs were pointing, even when the adrenaline is running and you get a little shaky at times, and you forget to adjust the A/O, etc. - the pellet always seems to be on target
I really like the JSB Heavy 18.1gr too which I just started using on my .22 Condor. I have to fill to a lower pressure to keep the velocities down, but it's all good. Uses less air too

Thanks Jorge.I am pretty happy with her! I am not usually lucky like that,,but this time I lucked in.Actually I was lucky twice as my Sumatra is pretty stout as well.I can't say I'm not tickled pink though as I was hoping for at least 65 fpe and got a little Bonus he he.
I still can't understand why she likes the Eunjins Best though,(But I'm not complaining). Thanks for all the comments guys,I appreciate them.

Check some of the add-ons from R&L airgun supply. Randy is great people and he has some great aftermarket stuff- his Ldc works well as well as his extreme valve. They also offer an aftermarket stock. Then try some of Jerrys 6 ring 62 gr. .25 slugs- with my Condor, I can push them to 860-880 fps.Good chipmunk round LOL. Then go to the Tag forum and learn all you can.
