Air stripper question

Would instating an air stripper on an air rifle reduce the sound in any way without a shroud on it?

Nope ... generally many feel louder due to the radial displacement of the air pulse

Air Strippers deflect the sound to the sides without reducing it (in fact to the shooter it may be louder)…. so far they are deemed OK in Canada....

For some reason, some of the Air Arms PCPs have flown under the radar for many years in Canada.... so we just don't ask about that....

It has the minimalist shroud.

16mm friction fit slide on would work well and actually better than a screw on LDC at muzzles end cap.  * doing a slip on you can gain a lot of volume behind the muzzle and make the slip on go back towards you to a distance just shy of attaching the filler fitting.

Perhaps if I get an adapter to fit (14mm to 1/2-28tpi?) I could use a linear compensator?

Odd, all the older 400/500 series guns with steel barrel sleeves have been 16mm.   If one of the newer style aluminum shrouds, there obviously something bigger.  That adapter your showing is not one I've see on a factory AA gun ?

I just bought the rifle and it an XS version so it's the latest model. I sent AA an email to ask what the thread size was on this one. Looks like it's M14x1.25?





Size compared to 1/2"-28tpi threaded barrel.

I received a reply from AA and the thread is M14x1.25, which is kind of uncommon I think.
