Ranch hunt...SO CAl...

Temps have been around 103 F earlier this week,so finally got out early this AM on a friends horse ranch. I set up under a big pepper tree in da shade,and did all shooting from there.
On ranch hunts,I always take an assortment of airguns..this morning I took my AS392T CO2 .22, Discovery .22 and two pistols: 1377C  .177 and my MAC 1  LD .22...
I nailed 3 cottontails and two ground squirrels. By 11 AM,it was 91 F in da shade,so called it a day..

BTW: The Benjamin AS392T .22 cal was discontinued in 2006...I got lucky buying this rifle in 'new' condition..previous owner never used it. It shoots JSB RS 13.4 gr at 630 FPS ( 82 F) on my chrono.



Ground squirrel from 40 yards..Disco .22..JSB 14.3 gr...



CT from 35 yards (using 'crossarm' hold)..JSB RS 13.4 gr..



CT from 22 yards..1377C .177..RWS Super H Points..(Cheap BSA Red Dot)

thanks Harry...missed you guys...since being here last,I traded my Beeman R9 .22 DG for a Paul Watts tuned R9 .20 Cal...complete with a custom barrel...although I favor PCP's,HPA's,this rifle is a very good shooter..I'll post info on it later...

Definately a "Crosman" day,for sure...!!  The 1377C just has a MAC 1 accuracy prep with long steel breach. very accurate which makes up for power..it shoots around  540 FPS on the RWS H Points..
Maximum effective range 30 yards on squirrels..I just switched from a scope to a cheap BSA  Red Dot
which makes getting on target quicker..
