.177 pellets you are happy with in Nova Freedom/Seneca Aspen .177

Just as the title says, I am looking for those of you who have either the Nova Freedom or Seneca Aspen in .177. and what pellets you have tried, the results and if you like them, and at what distance(s).

I have not tried many pellets since my .177 Nova Freedom LIKES the Crosman 10.5 domed (brown box) for accuracy.   However, there is a lot of pass through, even on low power (~730-740 fps @ ~12 fpe).   On high power (940-960fps @ 21+ fpe) pass through is a given in all cases when shooting tree rats and Chipmunks.


Anyway... I am asking for any and all info on pellets that work well in YOUR .177 Freedom/Aspen.   Please provide the range at which a given pellet is accurate.

Please don't post about any other caliber than .177   PLEASE!!!

And, please only post about .177 Nova Freedom and Seneca Aspen rifles.

Kerry,

H&N and RWS both make sampler packs, as does Straight shooter (http://www.straightshooters.com/straight-shooters-full-pellet-sampler-.177.html). Such a sampler pack might show you just what you need. Since each gun has it's own dietary need, another ATI Freedom might like a pellet that yours doesn't (or vice versa).

How many pellets do you anticipate needing to decide if your rifle loves a pellet?

I do heartily agree that pellets make the gun!!!!

Basically you're saying what works for us out here and part of us out here have springers which definitely favor brands like mine:

H&N (I haven't found the H&N pellet that doesn't work in any springer I have for consistent accuracy).

Crossman Premiers (either 8 or 10 grains) Some of the lighter version 8.6gr domes seem to fly right in my HW35E and R9--NCED had problems with these 8.6 grainers in his R9s and I think he's closest to explaining why some of those 8.6 grainers are inconsistent.

JSB exact--I got em all over in all calibers because everybody else likes them too.  These don't fail in any springer I have--sort of exactly as consistent as H&N.

I never shoot pellets that have replacement metal to make them lighter and faster.  I always use LEAD pellets with the usual hardening elements used to make them harder than lead itself.

I don't want to ruin my air rifle!

I understand that I can't expect a pellet to work in MY Freedom just because it works in somebody elses Freedom/Aspen.

That was not the point.   I asked for people who OWN a Freedom/Aspen in .177 to post the pellets they have had good luck with and at what ranges.
