Picked up a Crossman 1322 Pump Up pistol, and really liked it! Decided to splurge on a $36 aluminum breech from Baker Air Guns and a Tasco Red Dot optic. The breech is nice and solid, has two screws to secure the barrel FAR more securely than the original plastic one, and has a built in dovetail. The optic made it a lot easier to aim precisely, and produced some excellent accuracy! This particular Red Dot mounts right to the standard dovetail mounts on the Aluminum Breech, so it makes for a nice clean install! Below are pictures of the gun, target setup (shooting off the porch at 33 yards) and the blue circle I was aiming at on the box. Highly recommend the breech and optic for these guns! Shooting Crossman pellets.

Is the inside of the breech anodized also?

Yrs back, I had some alum breeches installed by “The Crooked Barn”. The metal was uncoated, and the bolts get a little ‘grabby’ sometimes..

Nice looking 1322 pistola with cool accessories

I use my 1322 for ratting at times, quite, shoots great with a lite red dot or 6x scoped carbine w/red laser.
I upgraded to a 14" barrel & LDC to keep the noise down..lol

Nice work on all counts! I love my 1322 with a 15" barrel and homemade LDC. The sparrow killer.

True-dat. If you’re gonna’ add all that bulk, it ain’t exactly a sidearm anymore.

Might as well make a carbine, they make steady, fun plinkers.

I have those Baker Aluminum breeches on both 1740 carbine and RC 1322 . They were the right price and I like the TWO set screws for the barrel.

That Red Dot optic weighs less than a pound, and the aluminum breech doesn't weigh anything. I'm happy with it just the way it is... and will avoid going down the proverbial rabbit hole. Been though that with some of the guns in my signature. For me, I've found a few key light modifications is the way to go.

If you have one of these pistols, and have an extra $80 to throw at it, these two key mods... the aluminum breech and the Tasco optic... are hard to beat! Most Red Dot/Holographic optics mount to a Picatinny rail. It's nice that this one mounts straight to a dovetail. Adapters put the sight far too high in the air. This one still aims normally.

I shoot it with two hands, resting off the porch rail. One on the hand grip, one on the forearm. Steadies pretty well like that. Trigger is really stiff, so it takes a little bit to get the shot off if you're trying to be accurate. I'm sure there are fixes for that... so that might be one thing that might twist one's arm. lol

Do a trigger job on the 1322, man what difference it makes on accuracy.
I used a GMAC trigger kit in my 1322 and it made it a sweet shooter, Wyo-man has some great write-ups on DYI trigger jobs.

If Im going to spend $30 on a trigger I would opt for the Prod trigger assembly. It takes a little more work cause you need a new hammer or epoxy the waist of your stock hammer, cut away the tube a little and $37 plus shipping.

A little rich for this gun... so I went to Ebay and found a lighter spring for $9. Supposed to go down to around 1-2 pounds, which is more than light enough. Off a rest, it's not that hard to shoot with a stiff trigger, but offhand, the lighter trigger spring should help quite a bit. If I want to get fancy and feel energetic, I can smooth the trigger parts out to slicken it up a little.

Plus, that trigger is coming from the UK... and shipped, it's 40 British pounds, which is around $50... and you have to wait on it.

Yeah, GMAC price with shipping is high, good quality parts though.
When I got back into airguns later on in life, the GMAC trigger was an easy way to go for me. Now I have the GTA team to point me in the right direction for all of my airgun needs. Today I would do a DIY trigger job myself on my 1322.

Don't forget the .22 casing in the top of the trigger spring!
I was surprised how much it helps,for a cheap fix!

I put a little moly, between flat surface of the casing and the sear. Make it slick.
